He is a much loved club legend who has delivered many memorable performances for CAFC over the years, and has loads of credit in the bank as a result. Oh no...hold on a minute...that is Chris Powell Yann is the tip of the iceberg where our problems are concerned, although that may change if he doesn't buck up over Xmas.
Nah, i've seen him get lots of stick for being overweight, unfit and not up to his usual standards lately, he tries hard but he's never the finishing striker, he's the one who flicks it on for his supporting striker. Sadly though CP has been playing 1 up front thus Yann is useless, we saw his ariel presence still against Derby and the great cross to Morro who fecked it up. Yann although inconsistant so far would be my POTY but that's because everyone else apart from Stephens or Cousins have been pretty useless
comment by Vol au Vent Addick (U14740419) posted Jan 13, 2011 I would be very happy if Chris Powell became our next manager If nothing else he would unite the supporters behind him, and enjoy an extended honeymoon period. He has also played at the top level, worked under a top manager, and is a thoroughly decent bloke.
When he was injured, the opinión here seemed to be one of 'well, it'll be okay when Yann comes back' which considering the general level of skill in the team, was putting a lot of resposibility on his shoulders. Plus when he came back, everyone expected him to bounce straight back with goals. It's taken time, but he seems to be slipping back into his groove. Yay!
Before he scored from the free-kick, I was so sure he would that I even told FHB jnr. which side of the goal it would be, and I was right, too.
His assist for one of Wilson's goals today was amazing - http://plentyofshots.wordpress.com/2013/12/26/lawrie-wilson-goal-vs-brighton-hove-albion/
I love their number 26 appealing for offside there, that's the definition of 'hopeful'. When I saw it live I thought Kermorgant had got a bit lucky, but he clearly meant it. Wonderful little ball through.
