Gus Poyet will check on the fitness of John O’Shea ahead of the Boxing Day game at Everton.
O’Shea sustained a shoulder injury during the 0-0 draw with Norwich last weekend and was assessed after completing the game.
Now Poyet and his team are waiting on further news before making a decision on the club’s captain ahead of Thursday's match at Goodison Park.
“John took a knock on his shoulder and has been assessed by the doctors and physios,” first team coach Charlie Oatway said.
“We’re waiting to hear now regarding the outcome, so fingers crossed.”

I would play Diakite against Everton. we need someone with pace & power against Lukaku like. come on gus give him a try.

He's definitely better with Wes next to him. When he's not, I think he's a bit of a liability.

good news in my book without Brown JOS looks lost, Get Roberage and Diakite in they both look like decent players and can do a job, I suspect they might be hungry for a chance and keep JOS and Brown out the side for a while.
