This will be a poor draw. Play OK, but stupid error will allow a Cardiff goal. 1-1.

If Hooiveld plays, he will continue his superb run of scoring. At least we know he's not spot-fixing - as no one would dare take the piss that much.

 

Just checked our head to head, and we haven't won away at Cardiff in the league since the 70's. I know it doesn't mean anything much but it's made me feel even worse than I already did!

 

Gazzaniga's only a year his senior isn't he? There is no good game to blood a Keeper really.

 

Cropper really isn't any better though.

I realise we don't have much to go on but just compare their records for the U21s this season and last:

Cropper played 17 conceded 31
Gazzaniga played 10 conceded 8

 

Bet Gazza's stats would be better with our usual back 4 in front of him.

This scares me, because I don't anticipate anything from Everton. I would have been confident but for the recent events at Cardiff. Had Tan sacked Malky, I'd have been super confident. However I fear we might just hit them at precisely the wrong time. Jeeze I hope I'm wrong.

 

We would have done better against AVB than against a team seeking to impress. Who knows?

 

Still wouldn't play Cropper. He has zero experience and is a massive gamble. Gazing a is not a gamble in as much as you know what you'll get, even if not good.

 

Yeah you're probably right, better the devil you know and all that. Still, it is horrible to go into games knowing that we have to score at least two to win because we are never keeping a clean sheet.

 

I disagree with this. Gazza is not just a poor goalkeeper, he is costing us points which even an average goalkeeper wouldn't. If Cropper is worse than Gazza then he shouldn't be at the club full stop. So, assuming that he is here on merit (and don't forget we released the very promising Jack Dovey to allow Cropper his place) we have to try him.

I wouldn't be overly upset if Gazza was simply making mistakes, everyone does (e.g. Buruc, Hart) but its the absolute basics he's not getting right and I really cannot see how this can get better in the immediate short term.

 

I would play Cropper against Burnley in the cup and say, "go on son, stake a claim for that place"

 

I would get a new keeper in at 00:01 on the 1st of january, to avoid that situation all together

We do need another keeper but im prepared that this May not happen.

 

I don't see why Gaz is not more confident. He knows it is his spot to lose since he has only Cropper is behind him. Yet he seems scared to leave his line. Even if Cropper is equal bit more confident and willing to come off his line that would be an improvement. Any one seen Cropper play? His he confident?

 

The worrying thing is is that even when Boruc does get back, he'll be rusty for a few games and his form prior to the injury wasn't great.

Has Osvaldo been suspended?

 

Take out the Cruyff turn and his form was excellent.
