It was Bruce Jnr who took most care of Suarez. Remember the crunching tackle late on, left Suarez on the floor moaning.

I can't see us being interested in Davies in Jan.

Distin & Jagielka have been outstanding so far this season & we've got the exceptionally talented John Stones sat on the bench every week.

I can't see us offering big money for a 4th choice CB mid season.

Next summer maybe, as Distin will be 36.

Never seen him play but according to everywhere I can find he is a right-back not a centre-back. Also, there is no way you would play him above Curtis who has been one of the best CBs in the league this year. Curtis is also a million times more mobile than either of the two starters, especially Jagielka who has the turning circle of an aeroplane.

He's played right back for Barnsley but he's 6ft 2" & has played as part of a back 3 for us. He made his debut against Juventus pre-season & was majestic.

If you think that Davies is quicker than Distin then you're wrong, as despite his age he's still extremely fast. As for your comment about Jags - ****ing clueless about sums it up - the man has been fantastic this season & for many before it. Davies isn't fit to lace his boots.

This is getting a bit daft.....why are we trying to convince him Davies is better than their existing options? If Everton arent interested then that's ****ing brilliant for us.

    Done.

Now then Tobes, excellent result for the Toffees last night. Good result for us as well. More teams in touching distance of us is always preferable.

You reckon Barkley will be in the starting line up for England in the World Cup?

Let's just hope your manager is as deluded as you are and then we'll all be happy.

Hi mate, great result for us, but not the best performance compared to how we've played of late, but I'm not going to moan!

You don't need to worry imo, I think Bruce will keep you clear of trouble this season. You're a quality striker off being as good as safe for me.

Barkley is getting better by the week. He's still very raw though & his decision making is still a bit erratic. I've no doubt he'll be in the squad, but I just hope he isn't over hyped

What deluded in thinking that first choice England CB Jagielka is a street ahead of journeyman CB Curtis Davies? lol, whatever lad.

The fact Jagielka is a first choice England CB says more about the current crop of England internationals than it does his ability.

Don't get me wrong he's not a bad player, but in years gone by he wouldn't have got a place on the bench never mind a starting spot.

If that's the case then I'm sure that Curtis Davies will be taking his place on the plane next summer..................

With all the money which will come pouring in if we change our name we will never need to sell any players, surely?

Because to take 1 club as an example Liverpool paid around twice as much for Andy Carroll as they did for Suarez and they signed on the same day.

Everton can eye Davies as much as they want, but a player's market value is usually determined by the remaining contract length and importance to the Club that player has, and therefore if they want him, they'll have to pay big.

It'll just be paper talk because a scout has recommended him to Martinez. They won't do anything about it until they can get him as cheap as they can.

You are totally delusional mate. Have another look at the replay of our match at Everton which you won on a fluke offside goal from a player who should have been sent off for a blatant vicious foul taking you down to 10 men. Jagielka looked like a schoolboy playing men compared to Davies. You have great players in Barkley and Coleman. Jagielka shouldn't be anywhere near the England squad. As for Distin...he's well past his sell by date.

Jagielka was tired because he'd just been playing two games in the week for England, that was plain for anyone to see.

Bit of a ridiculous statement to be fair considering they have conceded the least number of goals in the league, and have only lost one game so far (to Man City at the Etihad)...

I really do think fans of both clubs would be best off leaving it to the people who see players most often to judge them.

Just as City fans are better placed to assess Davies's play this season than an Everton fan, similarly an Everton fan doesn't need to be told by our fans who the best Everton players are. (Canada: most Everton fans I've spoken to in recent years would be astonished to find someone slating their two CBs and praising Coleman, who they generally don't rate.)
