Big rumour gathering pace today is that it will be David Moyes who takes over at Aston Villa, with McCliesh going to the vacant job at Everton.

He'd do ok there, deserves another club after the last fiasco.

Skysports.com can confirm that Chris Hughton is in the frame for the Birmingham City job.

The former Newcastle United chief has been linked to a number of jobs this summer and was close to landing the West Brom post before they appointed Roy Hodgson earlier this year.

He is also believed to have been offered the chance of working with Martin Jol at Fulham.

But now he could be offered the chance to replace Alex McLeish at the helm at St Andrews.

Hughton has excellent experience of Championship football having guided Newcastle back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Now skysports.com understands that Birmingham are interested in discussing their vacancy with him, although there are other candidates that acting chairman Peter Pannu and his staff are considering.

Portsmouth's Steve Cotterill is believed to be one name on their list whilst Roberto Di Matteo, Gianfranco Zola and Alan Curbishley have been linked

Who gives a **** as long as Benty squirms. Better to squirm at a bigger club like A villa, than a small club like SUNDERLAND.
But he wont care long as he picks up the dosh, and he can squeel, and people feel sorry for him, well not me fellah,
