With the team we got now we are going down & I said that on Transfer deadline day. if we don't get the right players in January then its over. I would put the B team out against Everton because the Cardiff game is more important game out of the 2 & hopefully we get 4 points out of the next 3 games. Team I pick for Everton is Mannone, Celustka, Dossena, Roberge, Diakite, Cabral, Ba, Gardner, Johnson, Mavrias & Fletcher. Team I pick for Cardiff is Mannone, Bardsley, Colback, O'Shea, Roberge, Cattermole, Larsson, Ki, Giaccherini, Borini & Altidore.
Egan will be ahead of Laing. Make it break season for both of them but I get the feeling one chance in the first team is all they'll need. Saw someone mention Mandron, the kid is promising but not ready yet. Needs a loan to league one or higher to refine his touch and learn his trade.
we are ****ed. wes has been a massive boost to our defence. looks like he fancied xmas and new year off
Thing is Bri - Why not play: Bardsley - Celutska - Roberge - Dossena Works for me if we have no-one else. Edit: Have just read through all the other posts and realised that someone beat me to it (Parker!!) That back 4 - Cattermole in front possibly with Colback alongside (as Larsson is not defensive midfielder) and Ki pushing on. I dread this game when we have a full squad but hey, a couple of seasons ago we had 3 midfielders playing in defence and a 2 third choice midfielders in front and beat Citeh!! I can dream. I would certainly give Mandron a chance - NFWG is always right though apparently - he obviously doesn't realise you need to score goals to win games and Altidore will not score goals and Fletcher is not looking that likely at the moment either so why not give the kid a run out. By the way NFWG - Well done on picking a team to play against Cardiff who couldn't hit a barn door against Norwich. You obivously really don;t understand the game!!
Of course you need to score goals to win games but playing a kid instead of Altidore or Fletcher is a joke. our forwards get nothing from our midfield so mandron will get nothing to. Name me your team against Cardiff then?
Really?? Playing a kid with little or no pressure on him surely works better than playing players who are currently failing. Altidore looks hopeless in front of goal. 3 times at the weekend he had the option to shoot and didn;t - OK so maybe it's a confidence thing but what good is a goal-less striker with no confidence in a team that can't score goals? Kevin Phillips would be better up front for us than Altidore and he's 40 FFS.
It's not worth talking about because Gus will never play Mandron in a league game end of. it's not just Altidore tho, the whole team is liking in confidence in front of goal. If you watch Sunderland play then you would understand Sunderland play better with Altidore in the team. he brings players into the game, he faster & stronger than Fletcher & thats why I would play Altidore for. Phillips is not better than Altidore but anyone is better than Altidore because you have never like him. just keep on thinking cattermole is a good footballer music boy.
I agree, he brings the unit as a whole further up the pitch, we can camp in the final third with Jozy in the team and we just can't seem to do it as well with fletch. With Jozy in the team we're set up perfect for the goals to come from midfield. The likes of Giacc, AJ, Larsson, Ki, Borini, Colback even Catts need to get their shooting boots on in and around the box sharpish. The goals need to come from everywhere. Damn we need an AM badly.
