Well we may as well stick to our strengths rather than defend and get beaten. Arsenal stuck to their guns and found the net. It was their poor defending which let them down.
I'd like to see Toure and Sahko both play together, Just feel we need an experienced head some one who has good knowledge of that City front line. Skrtel has been great since he came in but I do think their's a rashness about him that we can't afford to have against this City team.
Completely agree. I just don't trust Skirts when it counts. He does a lot of things reasonably well but is prone to mistakes. Its only a matter of time before he gives away a peno for shirt pulling.
I'd be happy to play Skrtel, but we need a leader in the defense. Johnson isn't one, neither is Flanno. Skrtel has never had to lead it and Sakho is new/young. Can't drop Sakho in this form, so Skrtel to be dropped for Toure if he's fit. Has to be done imo and that's shame for Martin because he's played well imo this season. We badly lack leadership on set pieces in particular though.
We need Lucas Leiva to be on form if we are to stand a chance, break up the play get them on the break
I'd play Agger and Sakho, or Toure and Sakho. Johnson to come out of his slump. I think they will attack Flanagan so we need that side covered. Same midfield we've seen and Sterling up front with Suarez. Attacking play but not with the slow buildup we usually use. Quick breaks and counters can tear their defence apart, shaky as it is. We also need to avoid giving away corners and set pieces. Kompany is a disaster waiting to happen there.
For me we meet this challenge head to head, meet fire with fire, whatever term you would like to us. Parking the bus is not in our nature. Try that and we are sure to lose and just look silly. Just like the Royal Navy keep firing until the water closes over your head - and then keep firing!
Probably end up another 6-3. We both have potent attacks and both have dodgy defences. However, their power in midfield will tip it in their favour. But then I thought that against spurs. Take any sort of draw. More optimistic for Chelsea match who do look vulnerable and not as prolific scorers as city. Definate chance of a result there.
How do we approach it? The same way we've been playing all year.. Why change just because we're playing city, believe in your own ability. We're not expected to get anything out of this game other than a hammering, so let's go there and try and give them a game..
From a City perspective I'm glad the problems were highlighted by Fulham yesterday so these mistakes won't be repeated on Boxing Day for the visit of Liverpool. Zabaleta has shown what a class player he is by being able to switch fairly seamlessly from right to left back.Clichy in Zabaletas absense tried to do the same at right back but was all over the place like a fish out of water. Question for Pellegrini is whether to play the inexperienced Boyata there or play Milner there? Playing Dzeko and Negredo together in terms of chances created is not a problem,at least half a dozen between them in the first half half at Fulham, but where they are ineffective is Dzekos lack of workrate tracking back to help an at times overrun central midfield out,Negredo tends to drift out wide to track effectively meaning its imperative that Edin pulls his weight centrally but he's too self absorbed and disinterested as a team player to be effective in that role,he's no more than a plan B off the bench for me. Clearly the impressive Suarez is the big issue to contend with, perhaps a man marking job by Kompamy could be the answer? I remember him doing it once against Rooney and following him all over the pitch as he dropped deeper and hardly gave him a kick. From what I've seen of Liverpool it's Hendersons influence in the middle of the park rather than the much vaunted Coutinho that is more of a concern,he's the one setting the tempo and is starting to look a class act. The last few games against Liverpool we've really struggled with their pressing game and been fortunate to escape with draws,we really need to work much harder to control the midfield and I hope we play the following 4-2-3-1 Hart Boyata kompamy Demochellis Kolorov Fernandinho Yaya Nasri Milner Silva Negredo
Would Kompany really be willing to be pulled so far out of position following Suarez around? Goofy moves about so much he'll end up in the car park. Wouldn't that bugger up your shape too much? Tbh, I think you could put half your team on him and if it's going for him he'll get through. I'd have thought your best bet would be to make sure you bag enough goals to win regardless of what Suarez does, rather than trying to stop him.
How do we approach this? With Luvs balls in one hand and rhc daughters in the other. Claim your glory boys, and when your done pornstars a plenty.
We were unlucky not get three points at City last season despite us having a 'weaker' side than them, fight fire with fire and as we know Rodgers doesn't do plan B. Go for it. #****orbust
