You mean the season is split in two halves? <whistle>

Yeah, no doubt he'll have a drought (hopefully not too long) or he'll go back to normal scoring of 1 in 2... but just have to hope we'll have goals from elsewhere like Sturridge

Most in-form in the world. Still a distance away from being the best. Ronaldo and Messi have been maintaining these records for years. If he continues this until the end of the season and breaks the PL goalscoring record we can then maybe put him in the same league as those 2.

If he had a nice guy rep he would probably be spoken about being one of the best in the world. Currently, yes, he is the best you can't argue with the stats. Would Ronaldo have scored the same amount of goals had it been in the English league, who knows. If Liverpool win the title and he keeps scoring I'm sure he will be voted 3rd best in the world next year, not likely lol

Messi is without doubt the best player in the world when he is fit. In fact he is probably the best I have ever seen. However in current form it is hard to argue against Suarez being the in form player in the world and probably the 3rd best overall.

So we are arguing about Suarez being the best player in the world. If we win or lose that argument I'm just happy that we are having the said argument.

  9. Yep, I couldn't give a **** whether he is the best or not. Same as I don't want him to win player awards, I'd rather he won team medals <ok>

Maybe the main point of me making the thread :bandit:

And it seems like everyone but UIR hold's there hands up and admits it. But UIR's a busy man right now working out a new 'Boom Boom Cycle' on photoshop, so he must be pretty stressed out <ok>

He's certainly the in form player and possibly the best player in the Premiership (form or otherwise). Personally I would go for Ronaldo currently due also to his game for Portugal in the qualifiers when it really mattered (if you didn't catch it he almost single handedly got Portugal to the World Cup finals with one of the best individual performances of a player I have seen). Statistics can be argued either way but what cannot be doubted is that he is in an elite few players who can lift 'good' teams to greatness. Not a dig at Liverpool at all but your team is mostly 'good' players rather than great ones and Rodgers is doing a fantastic job of harnessing the talents there and getting the most out of the team - great to watch and nice to see you doing well again.

Suarez is most definitely not the best player in the world going by the title and as uir pointed out th form player as he pointed out ronaldos stats. However he has most definitely elevated himself to top five in the world bracket (hard to argue against some of the players in the bayern team who are so consistent). One thing to praise is brendan who has managed to get the best out of suarez (he doesn't look as lethal for Uruguay) and the team which looked like a million miles away this time last season.

Ps what did you to Henderson. From shambolic last season to solid midfield player end of last season and beginning of this season. Throw in the last few games and hes looking sublime. That first cross assist and that sick sick ball for the second goal with the outside of the boot. Dare I say its time to ditch stevie me and let henderson start running the show

The Suarez debate will always divide opinions. I still think Messi is the best player in the world, with Ronaldo close 2nd.

As for Henderson, I would argue he is possibly the best English midfielder atm.

The management just kept the faith with him and given him the chance to express himself.

Plus he has genuinely just improved a lot as a footballer.
