Its not a big leap of imagination to picture him in with the fans cheering the team on if he wasn't playing

Honestly, their was a time I weren't sure of him but as I've seen him in form I've realized that those tackles that once seemed petulant begin to look like mistimed tackles from a player our of form. He's a passionate type an I could definitely see a pitch invasion the next time he scores.

Spot on, mate. Tony P didn't and his team of gladiators didn't stand a chance against Pardew's majestic mind.

That, prior to today, we'd never won by more than 2 goals away from home under Alan Pardew.

If only I'd got a ticket, must have been another great day to be there, hope it's the same at West Brom.

Its amazing to think that weve got 30 points through 17 games. What did we finish with 42 last season through 38?
Anyone else think benny looked hungrier when he came on today? Looked like he was going to score everytime he got on the ball.

Agree on the Benni front mate.
The 'old' Benni would have sulked around but clearly Pards has the dressing room onside and spirits are high.

    From NUFC.com

    Premier League:
    Selhurst lark

    Crystal Palace 0 Newcastle 3

Newcastle made it six wins out of eight in the Premier League to consolidate their sixth spot and move onto the shoulders of the European place contenders.

At a soggy and windswept Selhurst Park, United got their fifth successive win against Palace at this ground and it's now three out of three wins without conceding a goal in the "Brazil" away kit.

Yohan Cabaye got his fourth goal of the season to get the ball rolling with a side-footed finish in the 25th minute with the aid of a deflection off Eagles' captain Mile Jedinak after Cheick Tiote's header had set Moussa Sissoko down the right wing.

There was a hairy moment at the other end when Tim Krul completely missed a cross and Mike Williamson almost inadvertently turned the ball into his own net but Vurnon Anita booted it clear.

But it was home defender Danny Gabbidon who got an own goal to double United's lead six minutes before half-time when he turned Mathieu Debuchy's cross past his 'keeper Julian Speroni under very little pressure from Loic Remy.

The second half started with the wind swirling even more and affecting the flight of the ball and the home side, who had made a double change at the break, applied some pressure that Alan Pardew's side resisted.

But once Cameron Jerome blasted a good chance over the bar, there looked to be only one winner with substitutes Shola Ameobi and Hatem Ben Arfa causing havoc when they replaced Remy and Cabaye.

And both subs were involved in the third goal that sealed the points, Ameobi being tripped in the box and Ben Arfa crashing a well-struck penalty into the top corner, Speroni getting a faint touch as it flew past him.

Ben Arfa had looked lively when he came on and Yohan Gouffran was unlucky to hit the angle of crossbar and post after Ben Arfa had laid the ball back after a good run.

The win gave us 30 points from 17 games and was our fifth on the road this season, contrasting the two from the whole of our last campaign.

We stay in sixth but just a point behind fifth-placed Everton and only six behind leaders Liverpool going into our final two home games of 2013.

Tiote picked up his fifth booking and will miss the Boxing Day game against Stoke City.

    Full report to follow.

Team: Krul, Debuchy, Williamson, Coloccini, Santon, Anita, Cabaye (Ben Arfa 79), Tiote, Sissoko, Remy (Sh.Ameobi 75), Gouffran.
Subs n/u: Elliot, Haidara, Yanga-Mbiwa, Obertan, Cisse.

    Booked: Tiote, Coloccini.

    Goals: Cabaye 25, og(Gabbidon) 39, Ben Arfa 86pen.
