Christ Flyer, what did you do to that poor dog?!?!?! Back on topic, if we could get him on loan until the end of the season, I'd take him. Otherwise, sorry Crouchie, but no thank you.
I like Crouch and you know he'd give it his all every game and that counts for a lot in my book. And a no over 30's rule is frankly ******ed. However with Crouch I wouldn't be distraught either way.
For the right dosh then yes. We are crying out for a target man to help us win one header this season. Could be good with Austin. Little and large.
A six month loan would be ideal, I don't see him as being any real value once we've gone up, he can't get a regular game in a Stoke side that can't score...
No doubt he could do a good job for us. But is he the best option we should be going for ? Personally, I would prefer finding an up-and-coming hungry talented player who would grow with them team (hopefully in the EPL), aka Charlie and Matty
I think a lot are missing the point.. He WILL score goals for us in this league...no doubt about that. Our objective is to get up. SO Do we take in a proven goalscorer who will most prob get us 12+ goals from Jan onwards OR Get Jordan Rhodes, Ings etc who no-body knows what they are gonna do. Might score 20, might score 1? It seems that at the moment it isnt about planning for the future, its about going up. Im pretty sure 'Arry has a plan if we do go up and based on current form I'm willing to back him?
It would provide another attacking option but I tend to side with those who saying either on a loan or free. Age is a concern and there is the goal drought this season - I mean I know it's Stoke City who generally don't score more goals then their opponents, but still. Would this change in the championship?
Not sure how you can question Rhodes at this level Queens? 12 goals already in frankly average mid table side is a good return. His record is excellent If we were to spend the amounts bandied about i would have rhodes over crouch every time
Quite right mate, i worded it wrongly. What i meant is that I'd bet on Crouch over Rhodes every time to score more in the NPC. rhodes does have an excellent record in this division but Crouch has been doing it at the "top table" consistently for 10 years now. So based on that. if there was ever a sure bet, it would be Crouch. my mistake like i said, thats not taking money, future etc into account.
Would be amazed, impressed and very pleased if we had any chance of getting Rhodes this side of getting promotion
Crouch rhodes and ings score today At this stage i'd take anyone who can convert the countless opportunities we create
Crouch is playing and scoring for Stoke, 10th in the Prem (as managed by M Hughes). Doubt he's going anywhere, unless Stoke are bringing more strikers in.
He saw me naked as I stepped out of the shower. No chance according to Hughes but then we know how much his word is worth. Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has insisted that Peter Crouch will not be leaving the club. QPR have made several attempts to take Crouch back to Loftus Road and plan to try again when the transfer window opens next month. The Ealing man, who left Rangers in 2001, is also reported to be a target for Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis. “He’s not going anywhere in January,” said former QPR manager Hughes after Crouch scored the winner in Stoke’s 2-1 victory against Aston Villa. “He gives us a focus to our attacking play. He’s an accomplished football player. “He’s been playing at this level for a long time and you don’t do that unless you’re a very good player.”
If we could do a deal where we got rid of BZ & brought in Crouchie for similar outlay then be a yes for me.
Blind you couldn't give BZ away at the moment, lets just hope it was the injuries that made him poor and now the old BZ will be back.
There was a rumoured Crouch/Zamora swap deal mooted back in August, that would be a good deal for us...
