Proper sentence for the sick **** and hopefully he serves a majority of it before even considered for parole. If there is any justice he will have a terrible time every day of his miserable depraved life mixing with other hard nuts and psychos.
The jail time is 29 years (must serve 2/3rds of it, i.e. just under 20) then has a further 6 years on license. I hope his arse is big enough to hide a cat in when he leaves jail...
This man should NEVER be allowed in public again. The danger to children is TOO great! Now for me, any money he has made SHOULD be given to his victims or put in a trust fund for them, People in prison should be put to work as slaves basically earning their cell. Chain gangs, any task degrading should be fine. If you refuse to work you get no electricity or bedding and stay in a dark hole for the day and no food. He should be castrated. Whilst for certain criminals rehabilitation is a good concept it is not for people like him. His life should be like hell on earth.
Sid, that's without parole. Any prisoner serving over four years is considered for parole at the halfway point of their sentence. It's not automatic like the Non Parole Release Date at the 2/3rds date is, and depends on any risk to public and the perpetrator completing the necessary interventions stipulated by the trial judge.
When this story first broke, there was a link in the news to a properly depraved website where he was active on. He 'sold' himself for various activities. I had no doubt at that time that he was indeed the sick individual the media portrayed him to be (I generally reserve judgement over certain papers) I have kids and a wife that I love. I genuinely hope they keep him alive for his full term and the guards turn a blind eye every day. As for the mother, I cannot comprehend how anyone could allow their kids to be subjected to that.
Sid your right, I've just re-read the sentence. Watkins was sentenced to an extended sentence, which means 29 years in jail with an extended 6 years on licence, he is eligible for parole at the 2/3rds stage as you say around 20 years. If he gets parole he spends 15 years on licence. Sorry for doubting you mate.
He should hang. A proper deterrent. Same for Anyone found guilty of harming kids. The mothers should hang too. Their crime is worse than his. They knew exactly what they were doing to their own bairns, ffs. It will cost a fortune to keep and protect him. We put down dogs that bite, yet allow less animals to live.
