Talk about blowing things out of proportion. He hasn't been banned yet and no one here seems to have a clue what happened. I say let events unfold. Worst case scenario he's banned for a few games in the new year, in which case we cope without him and we move on.

Exactly. I wonder if the FA have also reacted to his reputation and his behaviour at the end of the Villa game.

So Dani gets charged for this yet the FA didn't do a thing about the Amorebieta/Lovren 'incident'

This is a frankly bizarre tirade. We have every right to criticise a player for doing something this stupid. Have I ever had adrenaline pumping through my veins? Yes, of course. The question should be why can a professional player not control his compulsion to assault somebody, when he's not even involved in the game?

For those saying we don't know what happened, we know enough: that he has been charged by the FA. They have clearly identified him as the guilty party. If he is exonerated obviously I will be happy, but that's not very likely is it?

Both clubs have escaped censure, so I would guess most of what we saw was people milling around. As Jimi was given a red card but not charged I would guess he got involved in the subsequent argument rather than the initial incident. Apparently Dani got charged based on video evidence as the ref didn't see it.

That's true. How on earth he got away with that, I don't know. It just highlights the flaws in the FA's system.

I somehow knew he would get away with that, though I am at a loss to explain why.

Striking out immediately in frustration (and judging by Lovren's reaction, not particularly hard) is not really in the same category as what Osvaldo did though. If Amorebieta had been sitting in the dugout when he struck Lovren I think he would have been punished just the same.

Lovren didn't react and obviously didn't complain. It was a weird thing to do, but there was no intention of hurting Dejan. In fact, he may have taken it as a compliment that he was frustrating the opposition. There's something at the back of my mind that a Saints player hit an opposition player and claimed he meant to hit the ground but the player got in the way...anyone remember that?

Might be bizarre to you PTF, but it's not to me.... frankly.

I'm with PTF. Whilst I don't want to condemn him completely without seeing the video evidence myself, if the FA are charging him he must have done something. He is a 27-year-old man FFS.

I used to lose my temper at football when I was at school, but once you get above the age of 16 and are a clubs record signing, you have a responsibility to not act like a total dickhead. Even if it was JWP or a youngster it would be more acceptable. About the provocation thing, it doesn't matter you should rise above it. End of.

Sorry, I probably shouldn't have been so blunt, but every word of that post was dripping with sarcasm and invective and I couldn't let that pass without comment. You disagree with me (and others), that's fine. Tell us your opinion, but I don't think the personal attacks are justified.

What Osvaldo is accused of is serious (even if you think attacking people is ok, he will likely be banned, so it harms the club), and you don't have to be "whiter than white", "self-righteous and perfect", "smug" or "pathetic and whiny" to be angered by that kind of behaviour.

You are right of course, I was just commenting about how so many people come on acting purer than pure. He is obviously a bit of a nutter and what he did (allegedly) is not right at all, I just get sick of all the perfect angels that hammer their key boards. PTF said my comment was bizarre, I don't think it so. I simply get pissed off with the perfect people who act as if they never made a mistake.

And as for your final comment "end of", seriously? He's a human being. What he did was wrong, but don't give it the holier than thou attitude. **** happens sometimes and their are a million things in life that rerally shouldn't happen that deserve an 'end of' more than that.

Let's say he gets a three game ban and proven 100% without any doubt guilty... you want him fired?

Obviously not fired. I'm not a goody two-shoes by any means, I've been in a fair few scraps in my time, but I'm 23 now and I know to apologise and walk away as it's simply not worth it. If a 27-year-old professional footballer in the media spotlight and public eye hasn't learned that lesson then I reserve the right to be pissed off at him.

If he is found guilty, the club should 100% fine him/punish him as well, if only to make an example to the academy lads that it's not acceptable to kick old men in the balls.

Oh, well let's see... "the whiter than white brigade" and "some people" are mentioned a couple of times. It's not really clear whom specifically you're attacking but you're definitely attacking someone, and the nature of the attack is clearly personal as none of the points you made were actually related to the topic under discussion, they were all related to the perceived characteristics of those you disagree with.

Well it's not very likely if everyone at the FA is as quick to jump to conclusions as you obviously are, certainly.

Well, however quick you believe I am to jump to conclusions, I think it's quite obvious that they are.
