Looks like wilshere will miss the chelsea game:

Personally I don't think it makes much of a difference.... hopefully Rosicky can play as he is experienced and like to add high temp into the game.

Would rather play Podolski. Wilshere can do a decent job on the right, when he cuts in with his only foot, but on the left, he is next to useless. Wenger should never play him on that left wing ever again.

I agree, I don't want to see him start. Saturday's game was his worst performance in an Arsenal shirt.

Worst game for us, but still made a magnificent pass that the dud Giroud missed. And if remember correctly, he was on the right when he made that pass. Like I said, if we ever use him on the wing, it should only ever be on the right, so he can cut with that left foot.

whilst what Wilshire did, was not right I do believe the FA have a selective punishment schemes for certain players/clubs

take the case of the Southampton goalkeeper against Newcastle on Saturday
when southampton scored the goalkeeper danced up and down the six yard line giving us the finger (not once like what Wilshere did, but several times gesturing with both hands)
when I reported this to the main security guy at our end of the ground, the security guy said that he had also seen it,
together with another 6 people who had complained
I was told that he would report it to the main control who would report it to the referee,
unfortunately as nothing has happened I guess it all depends on the the media brigade who gets the punishment

Arsenal are doing very well at the moment, but not to the liking of some hacks and those at FA headquarters

best of luck lads and go easy on us <ok>

I'd play Pod up front because Giroud's form has been just as bad as Wilshere's lately. Walcott on the right, Ramsey middle, Ozil left. Flamini and Arteta holding.

I'd go with Ramsey-Flamini in the middle, the midfield attacking trio of Ozil, Walcott, and Rosicky, with Giroud up front. Yeah Podolski would be good, but don't think it'd work out that good to return him VS Chelsea, start throwing him when we play West Ham, Newcastle, Cardiff etc, more suitable games than this one.

I would go with this combo & bring the Pod on once we are 3 up.

Yeah wouldn't mind Podolski on the bench.

I know a lot of people often think Arteta-Flamini in the big games for more protection, but honestly that midfield has never worked out that well other than their first game together VS Napoli. Against Napoli part 2, we saw what happened, against United again it was poor, against West Brom we looked flat with that midfield.

So while on paper it looks like a strong option, in reality it hasn't worked out so far.

Wilshere is contesting the automatic 2 match ban, but he has admitted the offence.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25408242

Suarez only got a 1 game ban for the same offence so hopefully we at least get it reduced to a game. If you contest a charge is the ban put off until a decision is made?

That's unfortunate. My confidence was up in the knowledge that Essien is suspended for us, but has gone back down now that I know Wilshere won't be playing.

Yea, you could be right. It's probably better to field a more attacking side at home anyway. Also, with Chelsea on the ropes a bit lately, we need to take the initiative.

It's not even about being more attack minded, I think a midfield of Ramsey-Flamini is good enough defensive protection, if the Arteta-Flamini combo was consistent, I wouldn't mind, but so far it hasn't worked out, we lost to Napoli with it, lost to United with it, and in some other games with the 2, we looked flat.

Well, Chelsea will probably play with Mikel and Ramires in midfield to try and outmuscle us, and Wilshere tends to struggle against that kind of player

Flamini-Rambo-Ozil trio should be able to deal with the Chav midfield.
Back 5 should be Chez (obvious reasons), Sagna (again obvious reasons), BFG, Verm (He's decent enough in a duo with BFG), and Gibbs (Nacho lacks pace which Chavski will have via Hazard, Schrulle, etc...)
Front 3 IMO should be Theo (ALways plays well vs them), Giroud, and Podolski (if fit and ready)/Rosicky (We'll need his energy if Pod isn't ready)

I agree with all of this except starting with Pod. A number of people have suggested this but it concerns me that he may not be match fit. Rosicky should start with either Cazorla or Pod (as you say 'if fit and ready') as subs.

I think this might be an ideal game for Wilshere to miss anyway as he'll get kicked about and the ref will probably do **** all about it. Let Ramsey, Flamini and Ozil deal with the Chelsea midfield.

I'd play Theo through the middle, Luiz is an accident waiting to happen, and their other CB's aren't exactly the quickest.
