I would imagine by the time the issue was decided we would have a fair idea of whether we would stay up or not. There is money to be made in the Premier League as Hull City so I can't see any reason why he would not want to stay. Investing loads of cash isn't the answer to success anyway, a well drilled team, all pulling together with the fans would be a much better bet. Palace and Sunderland threw loads of money at their squad and are struggling. Just suppose we suddenly had a cash injection of around 30 million for SB to spend, would you want two or three massive signings who could disrupt the squad?

I think he will lose more season ticket holders if he puts the price up by say 15 pcent than he will through a name change. For this reason i wish he would have balloted the season ticket holders.

    Or here's another

    The FA says Yes
Assem Allam thinks no I don't want to play this game anymore and doesn't change the name.
He invites all of the campaign group in to have tea and a chat.
He joins the Tigers Co op.
Next he invites HCC in to discuss the KC.
They are so thrilled that they ask him to accept the Key to the City.
Plans are approved and deals sealed and investors pour their money into the club.
Hull celebrates the City of Culture as Hull City win the Champions League.

A save our fairground protest group "Cancel The Walton Development (CTWD) group is formed, they harang and protest saying that the fair has more support and heritage than the football club.
They contact English Heritage and the development gets called in by the Government as Walton Street and West Park have a Community Asset order applied for by an indivual who says his candy floss stall is a vital traditional business that only survives because of the annual Horse Fair.
CTWD refuse to speak to CTWD. Steve Bruce issues a statement to the newspaper. Look enoughs enough, I love fairs and the brights lights, but the players are affected by all of the caravans on West Park, I know they shouldn't but lets face it when a fairground ride owner has a better car than a pro footballer, it preys on your mind. I really wish they would all park somewhere else.

I like this scenario, obviously won't happen but one can dream.Thing is it seems this club is sleepwalking into a portsmouth situation whether we change the name or not.Papa Doc seems to be running low on funds and will spend the bare minimum if he can.We know the premier league is astronomically expensive to compete in and Assem Allam has not shown in any way whatsoever that changing the name will bring benefits to the club.I know corporate confidentiality would keep him from naming names but he has made no effort to explain a strategy or game-plan that may persuade the fence-sitters that this is nothing more than a swipe at the council. It just seems like magic beans to those on the outside.
Why do many of the pro/not bothered camp always give the name-change or bust scenario.I'm sure you realise this it not so clear cut,or do you have some information the rest of us are not privvy to?

    This guy gets it.

The name change won't make us money and if it does happen, Allam'll soon see that.

Whether it changes or not, we need a chairman who will communicate with the council to get that stadium bought and developed. Allam won't do that so he can **** off and risk the future of some other business with his petty, personal squabbles.

Sorry PLT but can't you see the only thing that will keep the club going is year on year success. Unless we have a massive and I mean massive development plan.

Yes I agree. I think the stadium development would make money though. It works for other clubs.

We could combine it with a big marketing push to get the 95% of local football fans in my generation who currently 'support' Liverpool or Leeds to come and watch a real match.

I'm confident that the FA won't allow this name change anyway due to the massive furore and publicity Allams actions have generated via the national press, but if they did allow it then most commentators have said they will refer to us as Hull City as always anyway. It will just be galling to see a tacky US type brand Hull Tigers written down in reference to us if it did happen.

You've simply hijacked "City 'til we die" for you own agenda. The song was sung by most fans, long before all this controversy !

So don't think you're a unique bunch, most of us still sing "City 'til we die" but for all the ORIGINAL reasons.l !

It was sung at Boothferry Park FFS
