Said it before in an earlier thread and here for discussion. I think there will only be loan signings in January. To be honest, I do not think anybody is on the market who will improve us. The best players are tied down at their clubs and thats why only loan signings will be possible. Below are players I think could be allowed to move out on loan. Who would you like to have and who else could be available? Would we have a chance? Demba Ba Striker (I expect Chelsea to sign a striker in January, leaving Ba open for a loan move) Stevan Jovetic Striker (not starting at City. Could be worth trying). Dany Rose Midfield/Defence (I would take him back. I think defence is his best position). Jack Rodwell Midfield (was good at Everton. not starting at City). Jermain Defoe Striker (could it happen)? Emmanuel Adebayor Striker (had one start this season at Tottenham. What would it cost?). Danny Welbeck Striker (not prolific but perhaps we need his speed)? To be honest I was also looking for defenders, but could not find anybody, other than Rose.
I thought Jovetic picked up an injury, I've heard from a pal at work he's doing great in training and Pellegrini likes him. Can see him getting a game now Aguero is out for a bit anyhow. Welbeck won't be going anywhere either, he'll be playing whilst RVP is out. Defoe looks a good bet for you lot, needs games and goals to get in the WC squad, just depends if their new manager rates him. Zaha will probably get loaned out by United, can't see him getting anything at United this season.
IF (thats a big if) we sign Ki then we might get a loan, and personally Danny Rose/Ryan Bertrand would be one of the better ones available imo
I just looked in the net and it says four. Two long term and two short term. I guess Jan to May are the short term. Sunderland still have the option to send players back to their registered club. May be a penalty fee, but still allowed.
Then I'll take Jermain Defoe and Danny Welbeck. Let them loose together for three months and we will stay up. Might cost Millions in loan fees and wages but worth it.
Nice thought but there's more chance of me signing for the club! We have to be realisitic. No player worth his salt is going to come to a bottom 3 club in January, other than on loan. Unless, that is, we spend silly money! And ES just isnt going to do that! It looks like we'll see just how good Gus is at wheeling and dealing but I'm not expecting that much activity.
Think Defoe will go on loan to West Ham, he's desperate for games and they are crying out for a striker. If he goes there and gets 10 goals he'll be on the plane to Brazil. I don't think there's any chance of signing Borini or Ki permanently in January so domestic loans are out of the question I think.
I can't see Defoe going to the MLS unitl the summer, purely on the basis of a World Cup spot being up for gravs.
