The Hoops boss is keen to take centre-half Taylor on loan for the second half of the campaign as he bolsters his promotion bid. The 27-year-old has been fit for over a month but is on the sidelines as Alan Pardewâs side is in impressive form. Toon face an awkward problem with Taylor whose contract is running out â with no sign of a new deal. Redknapp tried for Taylor in the summer as part of the move that took Loic Remy to St Jamesâ Park and now he is trying his luck again. I think Dunno and Hillo have played a lot of games this season and with Onouha's injury we might need some extra cover for our cup run. ( I really can't see him coming to us in all honesty mate. )
if we get him one of Hill, Dunne or Onuoha is dropped, no way would he come without going into the team. But he hasn't played and with us that means another 2 months getting 'match fit' by not playing. What happened to that American bloke we gave a short term deal to? has he made the bench yet?
Think he would be a good signing for us, not just for now but the future as well, he's so much younger than Clint and Dunne. Onouha is covering both CB and RB at the moment, so good cover back there is still needed.
No sure about him seemed to have a bit too much drama inside him at times:
This would make perfect sense to me. Both Hill and Dunne are no spring chickens are are likely to pick up an injury or two, or even suspensions on the run in. We don't want to be short of cover in any position but especially in central defense.
Hes also someone we could sign on a free if we go up after we have a good look at him. It would help with the continuity.
Yepp!! Remenber some very good attacking performances from him too, eg when we won at Stoke first season in the PL and went 9th - I was at that game and really enjoyed it! But I also remember some very sloppy defending from him later that same season, and despite his name he isn't! Not sure he's ready either, to step in now if Simpson has to miss a game.
Yes half decent player but when the rumour was out earlier in the season he didn't want to come down to london then, so sod him.
He was one of the main players that gave Newcastle such a good run a season ago. He was awesome at the start of that season, but faded after injury
My first thought was no due to age...seems he has been around a long time, but he is only 27...would be a good signing, especially considering the age of our current two centre backs.
