Great to hear direcly from Tony on the podcast. Any Rangers fan surely couldn't help but get so excited about the future of our football club. Well worth a listen lads (and Lady)
To be Honest mate, comes over better to listen. If you can't I will try to put it down later, but struggling for time. (Thanks for moving Nines/Roller...Didn't notice this thread.) Also forgot to mention, big thanks to Finney for mentioning Erin's appeal, as he promised to do. Tragically it was too late but it was good of him to do so after I asked. Top lad mate.
Training ground – Remains a priority and in many ways more important than the new stadium. Now finalising plans for submission. Budget is about £30m to £40m. Looking good for completion in 2 years time. Stadium – Feedback has been very positive so far. Want to keep Loftus Road atmosphere. Already acquired a lot of land. Read The Telegraph’s Tom Gibbs “open letter” carefully. Capacity not set in stone but will be between 30k and 40k. Considering viability of starting with an initial 30k to 35k with the option to expand to 40k. Looking at places like Borussia Dortmund. Atmosphere is key and fan input vital. Stadium ownership – Looking at a couple of models, i.e. either the club owning the stadium outright or creating a separate company for the stadium which would be owned by exactly the same people as own QPR, i.e. QPR Holdings. Club crest – New kit sponsor to be announced soon, fantastic partner. Next year’s kit not yet perfect as will still have same badge. We will have a new crest the year after for the 15/16 season, which will take into account the past but will also look to the future Harry – He’s happy and don’t expect him to leave anytime soon. Fantastic relationship. What success looks like – QPR being a financially self-sustaining club, good academy, good crowds, enabled to compete with the best, with a constant presence in the Premiership.
OK, so finally heard this last night Was it only me that is completely underwhelmed with TF's interview? Sounded to me like a bussiness man just giving the required answers to those interviewing him. I didnt hear or pick up on an"zip" or "excitement" in his voice and it all seemed very pragmatic and robot like for me. I accept he had a bad line but its poised more questions than it has answered for me. I've always been ( and am) fully bacing TF to turn it around for us..just seemed there was something missing in what was a terrible interview in my eyes.. Definately worth a listen but something is not quite right IMHO anyone else?
Did you pick up on any positivity or enthusiasm in his voice Staines? I didnt, and like i say it may have been the connection but........?
Mate, I just think that's the way he talks. Honestly I've never been more enthusiastic and positive about the future of our club than I am now
Totally with you on that mate. I've been through the bad times too and really looking forward to the future.. Maybe that is just how he speaks as a businessman. Just sounded a bit rehearsed to me
