He gave away fouls left, right and centre, but couldn't play a pass to any of those places. Couldn't cross, dribble or shoot, and yet still managed to become possibly the most iconic Stoke City player in decades.

Absolute legend in the red and white. Thanks for the memories Rory!

Stoke legend, totally agree on that one and played his part in keeping us up.

Always remember him for this -

Absolute gent both on and off the pitch and infamous in our plight to stay in the premier league. Not the most technical of players but you could always see what his brain wanted to do but his body couldnt. His value and reputation was slightly reduced by TP overplaying him and relying on him when the game, team and squad had moved on.

Not so much the father of long throws, as the sexy teenage daughter swinging on a wrecking ball topless who made it popular #thats***iscraycray

Judging by the comments above, he was an incredibly underrated player in his own right as well, because the lad was well worth a place in a premier league team over and above being a missile launcher. I think it's a bit disrespectful saying he wasn't a technically good footballer, because Rory Delap did some amazing things with his feet as well as his hands <ok>
