Next WBA manager? Or WHU once Big Sam gets the chop? For the life of me I don't understand why he would get another job in the PL in the near future but some clubs seem stupid enough to make this kind of appointment. West Ham are definitely in that category.
Fabio Capello is the early favourite to take over at 5/2. Michael Laudrup is second favourite 6/1. AVB is now 25/1 to take over at West Brom.
I'm sick of this merry-go-round. Surely the contracts should be fixed for at least a full season. But then again, these people are not in normal jobs and they earn immense salaries and compensation. I think the stress kills them too, look at how some of them have aged Lineker looks good, he's been smart and kept to TV (apart from the golf which I never understaood why he was asked to present that!)
you now lose your job before christmas so the new boss can spend the beans.. Barmby never got a tin of beans to spend did he?
And there we all were expecting Fat Sam to go, and me banging on about Malky Mackay. Then boom! Steve Clarke & AVB. AVB used to describe his job as his 'project' when he was at Chelsea. Bit of a ponce, thinks he's better than he is. Time to earn his next big job at a big club with big money. He's 36 and needs to show is worth further down the trendy table if you ask me.
Always gonna happen, never going to make top 4 the way they are playing and not scoring. Interesting stat before the game: Spurs played 15, scored 15 Suarez Played 10, scored 15 (make that 17 now).
Interesting that he has the highest win percentage of any Spurs manager for over a 100 years (according to talksport), makes you wonder what owners and fans can realistically expect from a manager, especially one who isn't even allowed to sign his own players.
Should Spurs be realistically expecting to reach the top 4 this season? Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man United and possibly Liverpool all have better squads, plus Spurs have had to readjust their game plan after losing Bale and signing several new players. Top 4 was always unlikely for them this season, even so their still in touching distance, in the quarter final of the league cup and the knock out stages of the Europa League.
Can we stop announcing when a Premier League manager gets sacked? It would be a lot easier to keep up if we post a list of managers still in a job each day.
I think the idea is that there's not much of an upheaval if you sack the manager. But when they realise the director of football is rubbish there's a massive upheaval!
Always seems somewhat unfair when a 'manager' is given a set of players signed by someone else, then is sacked because those players don't perform.
Guess I was wrong, I said BFS would be next just yesterday... Spurs have been stupid here. They should've given him this season at least.
Capello was all smoke and mirrors as England boss - can't see him being a great improvement on AVB. Wouldn't be surprised if they went for Laudrup though as he might think he has taken Swans as far as they can go + that he is ready for a bigger club.
