If things carry on like this, it won't be Defoe or Carroll who beat Lambert to the 4th striker slot in Rio, it'll be our own Rodriguez! 6 goals in his last 10 prem appearances, very impressive

That is if we have somewhere to play: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-25409174

I know there is always scare mongering in the media and usually everything gets finished - just look at South Africa but there are some reasonably decent unions in Brazil compared to Qatar.

So in amusing/sad news, Falcao is out of the world cup after Monaco played him in the cup against the 4th division side and he got crunched by a part-timer. Don't know who I feel more sorry for Falcao, or the poor guy who injured him.

Just seen that the England squad selected by Panini for the finals sticker book does not include any Southampton players.

Well of course. Who would be silly enough to pick a Saints player for the England squad..? The whole idea is laughable.

at least there's someone commercially aware at panini who understands that the vast majority of their customers don't want southampton players. if only the FA had chosen a manager with the same keen business sense.

that said, 50% of my old panini stickers were of oldham players. i may or may not be exaggerating.

So how many people on here are collecting them? My office managed to fill a whole album for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

I could understand why they would not have Shaw but maybe Lambert or probably Lallana - I guess they made it late to the party, however Townsend is in there. Might be a bit embarrassing if many of England's starters are not included!

Are we going to be celebrating if Lallana and Rickie are selected for the World Cup squad or be left feeling very deflated should Hodgson choose the likes of Carroll and Defoe, Carrick and Cleverley ahead of our boys? I know how I will feel should Roy ignore any of our boys - gutted and will choose to cheer on instead the likes of Mexico, Japan, an African nation and Chile, Ecuador and Colombia as long as any of those nations are in the tournament!!! Would'nt it be a fantastic tournament if Brazil, Germany, Argentina, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and France all failed to get to the QFs? Please let it happen!!!!

Does anyone here think that Wilshire and Chamberlain should be picked considering how they have spent the last couple of months in the treatment room? Cannot see either of them being anywhere near match fit and IMO would be better off left out to fully recover from their injuries and concentrate on getting fit for Arsenal and contributing to England again in the autumn!!
