Come on Tyger Tyger give us an answer. Which do you prefer Hull City or Hull Tigers? Given the choice, no other considerations, just the name, Hull City or Hull Tigers?
Sadly you're right, we were way past that and looking at complete disappearance. Thank god for Dr Allam.
With Bartlett we started with no debt and ended up £30 million in the red. With Assem Allam we started with £30 million debt and now owe £70 million. After January it may well be closer to £100 million. Why not have a look at the accounts of Allamhouse and Allam Marine to see if the gravy train is about to come to an end.
We'll go down in history as the first club to be promoted to the Premier League under one name and relegated under another.
Boring bit....everyone knows I'm not bothered if we change the name or not. BUT I will still be singing ' City till I die ' as always. Its not a true protest song in my opinion because we have sung it for years. My £5 is going on 3-1 win
"Heritage and Culture"???? What utter baloney...what do you know about our "culture". How old are you? I'm 74 years old and have supported the Tigers all my life since the 1940s. In 1948 our culture was a bunch of hard working fellas in cloth caps and scarves and work boots filling the stands and standing in the mud and rain on Bunkers, and lads like me paying 10d to get in with a program for 1d. And do you know what everyone called the scrawny lads in their baggy shorts down below their skinny knees. THE TIGERS...as in "Cum on u Tigers". They ran out onto BP to the Tiger Rag. They wore black and amber stripes...Tigers colours.!! As for the 15 years I mentioned, in case you don't remember the Club was run by thieves and asset strippers...the Hinchcliffes, the Tennis players, the Bartletts. Honourable men like the Needlers were long gone. Harold gave the club valuable shares in Hoveringham Gravel to let them buy Waggie, Houghton, and Ian Butler etc. As for "money and success" I'll take our current position in mid-table in the Prem, playing before 50,000 plus at Arsenal, Man U/City, and Liverpool with money in the bank to buy players like Huddlestone over fighting to stay out of the Conference and all the "Great Escapes" in history. But presumably you prefer standing in the rain at Hartleppol with a few hundred other poor sods. You and that bloke Obadiah must be a bloody masochists!!!
If we are called Hull Tigers we'll always be thought of as the club with a silly name. I reject any suggestion that our financial position will be better because of any name change. Allam won't want the club to become worthless by deliberately making it uncompetitive. He knows his best chance of getting any money back is by success on the pitch. Don't believe these scare stories that we will drop through the leagues without a name change.
Allam can not afford to with-hold investment to cause significant negative consequences. If he did the money he has already put in would go down the pan. He is far more likely to put the club up for sale, which in light of the lies and deceit he has shown, certainly over the last few months, would not be a bad thing.
Oh and you do not class Allam as that? I am sorry the last few months with his lies and deceit he has turned out to be just that
