Ok it's a minimal thread content, but it's dead on here, let's kick off some discussion about Sunday's game shall we. What are people's pre-match thoughts? If we play to our best we can win, Swansea are not on great form reading some of the comments on their board and they've had 2 games in 3 days this week. We should hear from Chris today who should give an injury update. RvW was supposed to be returning to full training this week. Snoddy I believe is due back around Xmas games so we may get something here. OTBC
aye it's quiet JK lawro and merson have both gone for a win. in fact lawro was quite complementary about our prospects for the season edit, i like that 'whoscored' preview
As it´s Swansea, we always do well Not lost yet in this PL spell, With a win we´d rise Above them and eyes Might rest on others, who can tell? And Mr. Laudrup is this year Finding it all tougher, I fear, Michu not on song An injury list, long They´re struggling to get into gear.
Positives: Swansea seem to be on a pretty poor run of form City have had two good wins which will help to build confidence Hooper is now finding the back of the net and the midfield are starting to find Hooper with through balls RVW may be fit City are strong at home Good results against Swans in recent years Negatives:- City still have key players out, Snoddy, Pilks & Benno Michu is back for Swans and Bony played in midweek I think it will be a good game as these matchups usually are but I think we will come out of it winners and with Villa playing Utd at teh same time, we could well leapforg both of them into the top half of the table depending on other results on Saturday!
Always an enjoyable game against the Swans - always goals, incident and entertainment - should be a good un. I think a lot will depend on Swansea's frame of mind after their Europa Cup game yesterday. We have the advantage of not having played 72 hours earlier and have always done well at home against them. The tussle between Fer and Shelvey should be interesting and if we can keep Michu/Bony quiet we should get a win. See you Sunday !
Norwich City FC ‏@NorwichCityFC 15m Fairly non-committal stuff really from Hughton? And also: However, on a brighter note, I just saw this
thanks Cromer. yeah i guess he was going to be non-committal about ricky as he won't want him being rushed back and then injured again, after missing 6-7 games. getting snoddy back for sunderland would be huge, as it's going to be a battle of a game i'd have thought, his experience would be great
Swansea have lost some of their shine this season and the Europa league has clearly taken it's toll. We need to be right on it from the start and give them no space. Hopefully they'll still be feeling the midweek trip to Switzerland. I'd like to see RvW up top with Hooper but it'd be pretty understandable if he was givin another game to be sure he's fit.
I fancy a win which should propel us up the table and breathign easier. I like that fact that Hooper is getting on the scoresheet and took his goal so well against West Brom. Swansea sufering from the drain that is the Europa League and could tire in the final quarter when we come on stronger. Redmond could play a big part with his pace, important as ever to get the first goal. An early one and we could run out easy winners.
Spot on CotB, we need to attack then from the off - I believe Vorm is injured for this one, as he was for our visit to the Liberty lasat season. Also, good news re the progress of our injured players, especially Tettey and it will be good to see him back with Howson and Fer.
Vorm needs an operation on his cartiledge, which is scheduled for January, he is being managed until then and hopes to play against us! I'm with you on this and hope he doesn't make it!
I posted this on the relegation thread, but it's probably better here: The trip to Switzerland and back last night (described as a nightmare journey) has to take some energy out of their performance. Bony did play 70 minutes last night, but Michu didn't play. That they also have Angel Rangel returning from injury at RB will help, but they'll miss Flores at CB and he'll be replaced by a 21 year old. Be good if RvW is at least on the bench so that he can come on as an impact sub. Be great if City can get the first goal as that makes such a difference (witness Palace and WBA for that!).
Lawro has changed from last season's scepticism and now clearly views us more positively. He used to go on about CH being a coach but not a manager, but he has stopped that now. He certainly doesn't regard us as serious relegation candidates. Which is good because altho' we make fun of him, he actually talks a lot of sense at least when he has done his research on a team.
RE RvW, the tweet says "his training sessions", not just "training" which makes me think he's still not in full-on training with the rest of the team. He won't be match fit either, so I'd rather he misses out entirely than risk him doing further damage with a premature appearance.
The full quote said he resumed full training today and will be assessed, hopefully he's been keeping himself fit. very much doubt he'll start but would be good to see 20 minutes from him looking to start next week. I'm excited to see him an hoops up top together. I'm pretty sure thats always been the plan we just haven't had both fit simultaneously yet.you don't spend nearly £14m on two strikers and only plan to play one. EDIT: I'm very excited about this as it the first match I'm back in Norwich for christmas and have got a ticket
Lol, I bet you would, after recent meetings. Usually when games like these present themselves they tend to end up bore draws. I would love to see us get another win and really push on, it'll be great for everyone after our mixed start, but something just tells me Swansea won't be as bad as we all hope. I'm going for the draw, which I wouldn't be too upset about. It keeps the momentum of picking up points going
