As usual, England find themselves carrying the hopes of the entire European Anglosphere. So, how far do you think England will progress in this tournament and who will be the eventual winners? I predict another trophy for England. Their campaign kicks off tonight against Spain who should provide stiff opposition. As the BBC are pretty much ignoring it, you can view all results, tables, etc here.
i think they are doing a live text for it, and i reckon 1-1. Spain are a good team no doubt but dont underestimate these lads, they are decent footballers these englishman
Fielding, Walker, Smalling, Jones, Bertrand, Henderson, Mancienne, Cleverley, Welbeck, Rose, Sturridge. This team has got to be better than last time when they lost in the final?
We've been pretty much dominated since they scored the goal. I still have hope for this set of lads though.
Another draw leaves England needing a win against Czechoslovakia to progress. Can't see us failing as we have a habit of putting in a performance when it matters e.g. 1815, 1940, 1982, 2010, etc.
I watched most of the Spain game on Sunday and I didn't think we played as badly as reports suggest, remember Spain are probably the best side in Europe at the moment. After watching last nights game I'm concerned about our left side, I know Gibbs is a big loss at left back but surely Scott Sinclair should be starting instead of Danny Rose who, IMO, looks way out of his depth. There's not a lot of creativity in midfield and the only real spark seems to come from Sturridge but he's stuck out on the right wing. I'm sure with a bit of tinkering we could make it out of the group but its a tough ask against a decent Czech side who probably only need a draw to go through
