I can see Davies marking the lanky frigger at set pieces. I'd personally stick with Chezzer as opposed to bringing Faye in.
Unless there's some injuries it's more likely that we'll drop Bruce or Chester and bring Brady in at wing back again. That would allow Figueroa to join Davies and another at CB.
I think crouch is more affective with the ball at his feet! Can anyone remember a bullet header from him? He just doesn't use his height like he should! Alex should be able to look after him given his display against Suarez!
It's his headed flick-ons that are the danger. We have to make sure we fully concentrate on winning the second ball....
Stoke aren't same side under Hughes. There trying to play the ball on the floor. Not of that long balls to a target man playing for the second balls.
Even though McShane is sensational, I think the team should be the same as Monday. The old saying 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' comes to mind.
I'd leave it as it is, I could see the thinking behind bringing McShane back for Bruce, but Bruce's forms been good so he should stay in. Other than that there's no reason for changing now Graham's bagged, which will hopefully spark a bit of form in him.
No way can he take bruce out on saturday, davies is a certainty, i think with the way stoke play though, perhaps chester out for mcshane or faye? Faye will be rather rusty, i'm sure the whole team will be the same, we will start with sagbo & graham upfront.. meyler has been quality the last few games, livermore n thud are starters, elmo had his best game offensively and defensively for a long while against swansea and can't see brady starting
I suggested Faye in for Chessie for the Stoke game on another thread a few days ago. While Davies and Bruce (and Macca who will probably be on the bench) are strong in the air Chessie is not as we've seen several times this season, most recently the Arsenal opening goal. He is often out of position and doesn't seem to have the spring on him. Faye on the other hand is a monster in the box...at both ends...and devastating on thumping high balls back down field. We need him to take care of Crouch physically...Crouch is not the bravest player out there and a few solid challenges early on from Abdu should quieten him down. I'd also like to see Abdu up there on our set pieces.
You mean in the first minute, in his first game back after being out injured for over 2 months? Jeez, talk about not giving the guy a break. Chester was brilliant on Monday, was without question one of our stars from last season, he is clearly one of our best two centre backs and will without doubt be one of the first names on the team sheet with Davies. How anyone can seriously suggest dropping him for any of Bruce, McShane or Faye is way beyond me.
