I really, really hope you're wrong but I feel as though I have no other alternative but to agree. The FA are as about as reliable as using a piece of tracing paper as a condom.
Errrr....After listening to the B/side tonight and hearing talk about boycotts and Gawd knows what else. I thought that would be obvious.
I don't listen to Humberside. I'd question how many of those that contact it are City fans. Only a fool would base something on Humberside callers. At this moment in time, we are Hull City AFC.
What is the point of a name change? I dont get it unless it was like us that changed from Swansea Town to Swansea city, That i get but to add tigers at the end of hull serves no purpose other than the person who decided he wanted to change it to boost his ego and will always be the person remembered for the name change....the FA should decline on the grounds that its not his or their personal property and the club belongs to the fans who pay good money to watch Hull not Hull tigers.....that belongs in the rugby world anyway not football...good luck in stopping this and i have signed your petition..
I think AA pushed ahead with the name change request when he heard SB say he was going to have a word with him about it over their monthly cup of tea
Hull City is our club. He is just the latest custodian who lent us £80 million, takes nearly £3 million out in interest and uses our £5.5 million losses to reduce the Corporation Tax bills of his other companies. One day he'll no longer own the club just like the previous custodians. We'll be there on Saturday to make sure he hears us. We're City Till We Die, not until he puts in his application.
Some crazy myth about having increased revenue from the Asian market just because we have the word "Tigers" in our name or something like that... *I've heard from a friend who's usually reliable that it's a possible Cardiff situation and that there's some Chinese investors with a huge investment planned should our name be changed and that's why Allam's so adamant to press forward with it. *DISCLAIMER I do not claim to this as my own knowledge or even support it. I am simply putting forward some more whispers in midst of our recent on-goings. I am not "ITK".
Thing is.....fans have sung. City till I die for some years.....so you can't say everyone singing city till I die supports the. campaign.
No it doesn't, it belongs to Allam, he's the one that saved Hull from administration, he's the one that put his hand in his pocket to save them, not one of the whiners did, at the end of the day it's his club and if he wants to change the name then he should be allowed to, tbh you should be grateful you still have a club. Do you boycott Snickers bars because they were called Marathons before?
Email sent and a generic reply from the FA thanking me for contacting them and they aim to reply to me within 5 days. Owners, chairmen, managers and players come and go, clubs change stadiums and kits but the fans are the only things that never change, through good and bad times, we have dug into our pockets and time after time put whatever we can into the club.
What the **** are you on? You compare a 109 yr old Football Club with a chocolate bar?? Really?? **** right off!!!!
It does belong to Allam, but the fans have long-standing legacies with the Club to which has seen families watch Hull City AFC play since 1904. The owner is supposed to act on behalf of the fans as the owner has the financial power to do so. If you were to buy a business that was worth millions, would you go in and change things in order to repel your biggest market and potential customers? Don't think so. Of course he can do so, and there's not much we can do to oppose apart from protesting, but he should have consulted the fans before hand. The deceit makes the whole situation worse. And to answer honestly, no. Although Snickers/Marathon bars are a business that create products and NEED to make changes in order to evolve in the modern market to keep sales and revenue profitable so there should be no comparison. A football Club does not NEED to be renamed/rebranded to increase revenue because it's impossible to prove that it would work (unless it it done and tested). A football Club gains it's money from selling players, merchandise and tickets to the fans that come for one thing: to watch the team they support. People aren't going to see that we've been renamed to "Hull Tigers" and go, "ooh, that sounds better. I'll go buy their shirts and attend matches now". Change wasn't needed.
Okay. So the FA knock it back. Allam pulls out.. Hull City go under...I go to Paragon station and board a train to Leeds with the other three hundred Hull based Leeds fans. Most of who used to be CTID until they cocked it up BIG STYLE.....Be extremely careful of what you wish for. I honestly think some of you Herbert's would love to see that..
I don't understand why people are so adamant that the Club will 'go under' should Allam leave. Allam isn't the only affluent human being in the World. I'm pretty sure an investor will look at a currently mid-table PREMIER LEAGUE Club and see that as a prosperous investment. Especially considering the quality of our fan base and the squad.
Exactly! Do people really think that there isn't someone out there interested in buying a Premier League side?
There's whispers that he's against it, but it's also well-known that he couldn't really give a flying **** about football so he probably isn't bothered at all.
