Monty, we've done nothing for 77 years by your ambition. You seem to be one of very few who seem to want to risk our club's future by trying to buy success. Thing is, your idea will see us banned from all European competitions by the new rules. Preventing us from keeping hold of these new players and preventing us from balancing the books as we'd be unable to compete in the competition that's lucrative enough to rebalance the books.

Not tried and tested really though, considering by your own admissions you've still got the easier teams to come at home. If Poyet plays a lone striker with Giaccherini and Johnson in behind against Norwich and you lose, do you accuse him of not being brave enough to play two strikers? You're not going to bully the Chelsea/Arsenal defence with crosses maybe but plenty of teams wouldn't be able to cope with the kind of quality Johnson can deliver, probably talking about the fixtures you have still to play at home.

The second I see Johnson lining up in an AM role I'd tell my DM/Centre halves to push him onto his right foot, end of Johnson.

    Confidence booster from Poyet

If someone was willing to buy him for £5m I'd sell in an instant. Highest earner at the club and his performances, even at the best of times, don't justify that

Johnson in my opinion is a confidence player, and at the moment he seems to be lacking in this department...If he can regain his confidence then we have one hell of a player at our disposal..

1 it has been tried and tested, by 3 managers. I'd sell him myself.

2 You've confused me with someone else, I don't want to play two up top. Lose the midfield battle and you tend to lose the game.

3 He's struggles to beat the first man like most of our lot when it comes to deliveries. He's much more useful at cutting in, the only thing he's been useful at since he signed. Next you'll telling me all about Seb's superb deliveries even though he's also been useless with his final ball for a season and a half.

hes as predictable as mcclean was /is he also has not got the work rate , i dont think he is usefull at as you say cutting in ,he should be getting past full backs and putting in balls behind for others to run on to,all he does by cutting inside is either losing the ball or halting the flow , plus he should be taking all corners imo as he cannot head a ball to save his life ,so why does he go into the box if he cannot head it.
as i said hes not my sort of player and never was or will be ,waste of resourses.

    You're misunderstanding me Stu

I said it's what he's more useful at it, implying it's the best part of his game, Not that he's consistently doing it. He's bang on at it when he's playing well but those games are few and far between.
