The question is who'd place their hard earned money on someone getting the first yellow? The only people who would are the ones in the know! If our own bookies stop these stupid bets then the foreign ones will follow! Especially if they are the only ones who are taking the hits!

Ian Goodison is one of the others being held but hasn't been charged yet.

Akpo, Sam, and Steven Sodje are another 3. If they're all in on it Efe must either be in on it or getting worried he's going to be wrongly investigated

DJ Campbell on twitter is insisting it's a case of mistaken identity and aims to be cleared in time to play in Blackburn's score draw this weekend.

Hmmm, now I'm no lawyer but I'd say it's a bit silly to comment on this on Twitter, even if he is 100% innocent. Surely he should just suspend his acocunt until his name is cleared, if he's that confident. But does this need to engage immediately with all and sundry just sum up the mindset of the modern footballer?

He's claiming he has an alibi - he was out elsewhere having one of his 3-hour lunches.

Oh, i didnt read it until the end...lesson learned I s'pose. I honestly could see him or another footballer using Twitter like that though, which is really my point!

The saddest part of all this for me is that, not only does it seem that DJ Campbell has profited so much from dishonest means, he's gone and spent it all on those **** tattoos and gold teeth.

Presumably to look like his contemporary, Goldie.

If only there'd been some Premier League bound club he could have joined, he wouldn't have needed to resort to this after getting his promotion bonus and wage increase.

They're being interviewed after being arrested, not charged, and not been found guilty of anything, yet. Sodje looks fooked, agreed, but be very careful what you type about the others until its a foregone conclusion.

I'd like to apologise to anyone offended by this comment I made earlier. I may have been a bit insensitive mocking his sandwich addiction. Sandwich addiction, like any other addiction is a serious matter and shouldn't be taken lightly, especially when you consider the devastating effect it can have on the body of even a professional athlete such as a footballer.

First throw in bet has been going on for years. I remember hearing from a friend who was a professional who regularly mistimed a header on the touchline following a sweeping pass from the kick off....from memory an ex city player used to over hit the pass

Yeah, but they were probably using match fixing to cover their lack of ability.

Does bring up the question about the old Peter Taylor starts though. Centre taken then punted for the winger to run onto midway in the opposition half.
