Just learnt that a young girl (14yrs old) from whitworth park school took her own life on friday due to bullying and another today from redhouse comp for the same reason. Why do children or people in general feel the need to bully others? I was subjected to bullying when we moved back to Sunderland at Thornhill school the worst was when i was told i was going to get my head kicked in after the 6 weeks holidays - a great 6 weeks that was.
Sorry, ot ot! What year did you leave Thornhill? I was there '90 to '95. Was a good school back then. I hope the bullying didn't spoil your memories of it.
I left Thornhill in 78. Had a decent rep then though I've heard it's gone down hill since. I wonder how many more on here went to Thorny?

They are cowards mate & tend to stick together in their little gangs. I had bullying at school by a lad & his gang. One time I was visiting my granny & I saw the bastard on his own. I kicked seven shades of **** out of him that day & I never got any more trouble. Not only that but because his reputation was shot, his gang dropped him. A few years later after we left school I saw him in Marlborough Crescent bus station in Newcastle & I gave him another twatting just for the fun of it. That's what bullies are, cowardly scumbags.

Parents of the bullies need to be held accountable for their children's actions. It's their job to teach their children the morals of life. I also think the schools should be equally accountable as they have a Duty of care to all children at their schools. They've got no control of bullying so failing in their duty of care. I also feel that a lot of parents don't monitor their children's internet activity adequately. Society is ****ed up. It's disgusting.

meaning there are more muslims than our own, plagued meaning that the authorities have had to step in, not to specify muslims as a problem, just that any problem that requires police presence is a plague

I was bullied as a 5 year old when we moved to St Neots near Cambridge. At one point i had a skipping rope wrapped round my neck with 2 lads either side pulling it. Id pay money to be able to meet these lads now!
Small world indeed Until recently, I lived in the next street. I also go to the same snooker club as K, just along the road.
I had a situation once when a newby at school in lowestoft decided to bring half the school to my house on a saturday as i was regarded as a top lad and he saw fit to try and diss me to put himself on the ladder, he offered me out in our back lane, i tried reasoning with him, he would not back down. So I ran in the house, put on my kung Fu uniform and picked up my nunchuks, my gran (who lived with us) stopped me and asked what i was doing, i explained the above and she let me go. I came out and he said "no weapons" I said ok then and threw them in the garden shouting "come on then" He ran off! incidently he went to another school after that!
Sounds about right mate. Bullies are cowards deep down when they on their own. They hang around in a gang to back up their insecurities, but as the O/P says it can cause kids to end their lives. A lad at my school got caught trying to hang himself due to bullying. Why? Because his dad died when he was a young lad so his mam struggled to buy him the latest clothes. ?
