West Brom's stats read every bit as bad as our in recent times - 7 wins at home this YEAR, nine wins in the last 33 games, and the natives are restless following losing to a 'poor' Norwich City side yesterday. Most of the calls on the WM call in show are pointing to SC being 'too nice', a good coach but not a manager, dour in his interviews, fed up with Chris Brunt, poor defending, lack of tactical nous, and the list goes on. (Not too dissimilar from us) Quite an eye opener listening to them.
The only difference between them and us last season was Lukaku. And that became more and more obvious as yesterday's game went on.
You could make a case foe Shane Long not being too bad himself - especially against Norwich, but credit to Ruddy and the Norwich back four for keeping him quiet yesterday. And the Baggies kit man, of course, for ensuring he had his boots on the wrong feet
Crass,it reminds me of the anti Pardew feeling at SJP last season. And BTW I don't think Norwich are a poor side.there is a six point gap betwixt 10th and 18th.
We listened to wm on the way out of west brom too. Was pretty much like a brummie version of canary call. That eased my fears, knowing we're not the only team with noisy delusional fans that simply must be heard.
Off topic, CT, but how nice to visit the forum on a Sunday lunchtime - and find the "Relegation watch" thread is right at the bottom of page two
The reaction to Clark is indicative of the position though isn't it? Look at the bottom 8 and the story is the same Sunderland - Di Canio gone Fulham - Jol gone Cardiff - Unhappy with Mackay Palace - Hollaway gone West Ham - Allardyce probably next for the chop, natives unhappy West Brom - see above Norwich - guess we know about this Hull - It won't take much before Bruce is in the spotlight Villa - Natives restless and disgruntlement is around Villa Park Swansea - Laudrup could soon be in trouble with two more bad results It isn't rocket science all of this is it?
Agree wholeheartedly JK, but when has that not been a reason for fans getting upset and ringing in to such debates? I did forget Stoke of course and Hughes is again under pressure. Turn this around and ask which fans are delerious and the list is pathetically small, probably Arsenal, Everton and Southampton only. Welcome to the human race.
Is this really what supporting your club has become - it seems more to do with 'not losing' than actually trying to win games?? There is soooo much money involved - especially with qualification for Champions League places and seeing how Swansea have suffered this season, I'd be quite happy for us to just remain around mid table for a few more years.
Wind the clock back a few months and a lot of Gooners will have been telling you that Wenger had lost the plot and it was time for a new beginning at the Emirates. I tell thee, there's nowt more fickle than a football fan
Absolutley Munky, if the fans had their way then he would hav ebeen history at 5p.m. on the opening day!
Indeed! As for the Europa League, read poisoned chalice and it has been a tale of woe for Stoke and Birmingham previously too. Swansea could be in difficulty quite easily I am afraid.
