I agree - i thought traore coming on was a bit odd. BAE was playing well and looked dangerous. Traore had a couple of chances to get crosses in and fluffed them all. i also thought taking off philips AND Hoilett, the two players who can produce a bit of magic, was a bit of a strange one.
Only 1 of the 3 suspended the previous game is out for our one so that leaves 3 overall. still 5 reds in 2 games is some record.
Given our media team has won awards etc you'd think they would be a bit more forthcoming with injury concerns etc. Would like to know what the deal is with Benayoun as well, he wouldn't necessarily be my choice at 33 or 34 but would have been useful today.
Weve been like it all season, we seem to think we can coast through games and it will just happen. Its no good waking up with 10 to go. We have to start games like that.
It s a risky strategy (if thats what it is) but I guess thus far it's worked (I would have taken 2nd in the league at this stage). But we do have the payers to play a more dynamic game so it is a little frustrating that we are'nt doing more going forward.
A bad day at the office, today. Although, we must think positively: Another clean sheet. Still unbeaten at home. Leicester lost. Burnley struggled to beat Barnsley. We are still in the top two. Scum lost (even though it meant that MH won). Foolham's going down. It's Saturday evening. Cheers!
Have to agree with the idea that taking both Hoilett and Philips at the same time was an odd decision. Someone who was there will have to shed a little more light on the situation, but as both O Neill and Kranky are paceless central midfielders they are little threat from wide positions.
We couldn't have hoped for better timing to face Blackpool away with them coming off a 5-1 trouncing at Derby, with players sent off again, so missing a few for our game.
Doncaster had a load of injuries ahead of our game and we all thought just turn up to win. Ince will get a performance out of whatever team they put out at home, prepare for their backlash...
I thought it was going to be a high scoring game ... I uses most teams fear us and will park the bus. Onwards and upwards it's done and we should all understand it's a very good position to be in
We're still in a great position compared to what many of us thought we'd be in at the start of the season, we now enter a very tough run of fixtures, if we're still joint top on points by New Year's Day we'll be well set...
Not a bad point at all (not seen the game). We got this league under control mate. Very hard to beat and does no more than necessary, which sometimes isn't quite enough. It's a good skill picking up points like we do, I bet Leicester would have loved a point today, or against Wednesday etc. You get my point. It's a means to an end, all that matters in the big scheme of things is promotion. Entertainment comes second, unless wins get your motor running
Mission accomplished Finglas, I mouthed Happy Birthday to him across several tables of the C&S. Nines and I were lucky enough to meet and chat with Peruvian Hoopster before the match; living in Peru has clearly not dimmed his love of the Rs. I was also "hosting" QPRski (from LFW) for the match who was over from Poland on a flying visit. He was a LR regular in his teens before moving out there, and clearly loved being back even if it was just for one match. These experiences reminded me of something that Brixton wrote a couple of years ago after I published "This World of R's". He wasn't wrong often, was he?
I really disagree. I even enjoyed our first premier league season because of some of the gung-ho games. This season seems dull and uninspiring at time. My point can be shown by the fact that after a good game against Bournemouth, our crowd at LR were obviously much more up for it yesterday as a direct result of how we played on Tuesday last. Our crowd has been so tame so far. It'd be a lot more rocking at LR if there was a bit of zip in the team. I really don't think I can say that I would prefer to get results for the rest of my days on this earth than actually enjoy myself there.
Me too, the 3-2 defeat by Man City was an excellent game and on another day we could have won it. Under Redknapp we would have just tried for a 0-0. I think there should be 0 points for a 0-0, it would mean both teams would have to attack and wed see an end to dire games.
