If Howard Webb had been blowing the whistle today you can bet your life United would have that penalty.

However he'd have also given one to Hernandez for his swan dive and we'd likely be lamenting a 2-0 defeat!

Bloody hell, we know he hates Newcastle but he proved himself a Man United supporter too while Fergie was boss...

Clearly Howard Webb is not popular in these parts? Must admit I think he's one of the better refs though!...................<ok>

Don't know if it was stonewall like Wednesday. Mariner wasn't great for us today but compared to Webb on Wednesday.

Anyway forget Wednesday, it was just a blip :D

Congratz on the result! Did not see you guys pull this one off. Love to see United get some of ridicule people have sent our way over the years.

Btw, this is such a weird season:
Swansea - Man United 1-4
Swansea - Newcastle 3-0
Man United - Newcastle 0-1

No he's not – which is why I believe it caused so much bother, it wasn't a Swansea thing at all really.

It has happened far too often with Webb for it to be coincidence for me, sorry. I hate criticising officials honestly but it has to be said...

I like Swansea though and midweek they were good value for a 1-0 win at most out of the two sides, no question.

Great result after being slaughtered mid-week.
What did Pardew have to say about the handball on the line? I'm sure he would have been incensed a penalty wasn't given and the player sent off ....... oh hang on.
Ball to hand .. of course.

Smoked a Fish and Cider Pie.

Serves 6-8 | Takes 30 minutes to make, plus cooling, 30-35 minutes to bake finished pie |
Try this variation on the traditional fish pie with smoked fish and cider and a puff pastry lid.

Ingredients
50g butter
50g plain flour
300ml double cream
200ml dry cider
250g large raw peeled prawns
450g fresh haddock fillets, skinned and cut into large pieces
125g smoked haddock fillets, skinned and cut into large pieces
50g frozen peas
1 bunch of spring onions, finely chopped
Large handful of flatleaf parsley, chopped
375g ready-rolled puff pastry
1 large free-range egg, lightly beaten
Method
1. Melt the butter in a pan. Stir in the flour and cook for a few minutes over a medium heat until it forms a thick paste. Gradually stir in the cream, until you have a smooth thick sauce. Slowly add the cider, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat.
2. Stir in the prawns, both types of haddock, the peas, spring onions and parsley. Spoon the mix into a 1.5 litre pie dish. Cool.
3. Wet the edges of the dish with water to help the pastry stick, then unroll the pastry and lay on top. Press the edges down to seal. Trim the excess pastry from around the edges and use the trimmings to decorate the top, if you like, sticking them on with a little water. Wrap the cooled pie in cling film, then foil. Freeze until needed.
4. The day before you want to eat the pie, remove it from the freezer and defrost completely overnight in the fridge. Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/gas 6. Brush the pastry with the beaten egg, then make a couple of slits in the top to allow the steam to escape. Cook for 30-35 minutes until golden and piping hot.

We have really chucked some points away to minnows this year, imagine where we'd be now if we'd taken the 6 points from Sunderland and Swansea we should have

It's debatable we'd have the wins we've had without those setbacks.

We clearly got a reaction from the players for the derby loss and probably would have crumbled today had it not been for Swansea's "boot up the bottom" as Pardew puts it.

Can't win them all and it's how you react. Uncharacteristically for NUFC we've reacted well!

I agree, it will be gifting lesser teams like SAFC which may cost us a Yewrope place.
