Girl, 17, Injured As Travelling Newcastle United Fans Cause Disorder At Services

A teenage girl needed treatment from an ambulance crew after a group of Newcastle United fans caused disorder at a service station on the M62.



Police were called to Hartshead Moor services near Bradford, West Yorks, after "rowdy" fans caused damage inside the building as Toon supporters travelled to the clash with Manchester United.

Staff faced a clean-up operation after the fans, believed to be travelling by coach, began causing trouble around 10.30am on Saturday December 7.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire police said bottles had been hurled inside the services and the 17-year-old girl, a member of staff, was "feeling faint" but it was not clear whether she had been hit by a missile.

The spokesman said: "We got a call at 10.27am to say there was a group of Newcastle fans being rowdy at services.

"Some damage has been caused. There are reports of bottles being thrown.

A sizeable group of brave teenage dickheads bombarded my windows with about thirty snowballs in one go last year, so I know how frightening this type of thing can be, especially when you have young children with you. What a bunch of morons, identify them and fine them. Lock them up if needs be.

Totally agree mate, they are just random twats. It wasn't that long ago that our fans caused mayhem at Wigan, invading the field at some minor league game and swinging on the crossbars. I'd bet the same arseholes would bawl their eyes out if they had their Xboxes taken from them.
