6-8 weeks, massive blow for them. Sturridge is there bread and butter striker imo and Suarez is the guy for getting those goals when you need someone to make something special on there own.
Tbf both have been consistent, both have scored in almost every game, in fact both have scored in every game but 2 in each players case I think.
Yeah they have been a fantastic strike partnership. You rely on the pair of them far too much though, how many of your goals have the two of them got? You need some midfield quality in January!
tis a massive blow indeed, hopefully aspas or Alberto can step up for 14 games and we can sell them for 50m
That did actually make me laugh. But i have to point out that Ramsey has been solid all calander year not just 14 games
glad to see someone has a sense of humor. Ramsey was showing class before his injury too tbf, nice to see it hasn't ruined him.
remove The french striker and one other key player, say ozil. do you think you would be top still? Edit I mean ramsey not ozil
Yeah i think a lot of people lost the faith and thought the injury had ended him. It's awesome for Arsenal that he is achieving the potential he showed before having his leg broken in 6 different places in stoke.
Giroud has been great for us this season, scoring goals, holding up play etc. But a lot of our goals have come from midfield so i think given the gap we have at the top there is still a good chance we would be top even with him out injured. But it would be a big blow if he was out given that both Podolski and Walcott have been injured. With Podolski available and Giroud out i still fancy us to remain top though. In midfield we have incredibly quality in depth and so i think we could cope with ozil being out quite well. But of course a player of his quality will always be missed. Our form has coincided with a solid defense more than anything else though and so i dont think we would be much worse off with a couple of key attacking players out. We have the best defence in the league and are keeping clean sheet after clean sheet. I get the point your making though and of course any team would feel the effect of losing 2 very key players, i just feel that Liverpool are lacking in a few areas, particularly in midfield as so up top Sturridge and SUarez have a lot of pressure to do it all alone fairly regularly.
Agree with the above. Arsenal would cope much better without Giroud and Ramsey than Liverpool would without Strurridge and Suarez
I would even say that Walcott has become a key component of our attack. He's been out for quite some time, including Podoloski, yet we've managed to soldier through. I would say that even if lost Ramsey for a few weeks today, I would be confident that we could still carry on winning. We have enough depth in our midfield to keep it going. I also believe our winning run has a lot to do with us strengthening core. Big Mert (hes has a season to adapt) and Flamini, with their combined intelligence, leadership and general read of the game has significantly reduced our mistakes at the back.
Totally agree, our MVP (using a yank term) has been big Mertz. The leadership, organisation and composure he's proved at the back has been invaluable to us so far. Without a proper foundation, you can never be successful. We have enough in most departments to soldier on.
the problem is, you're basing your argument on the Daily Fail's quote of £50m, and calling us deluded for it. Nobody here has offered that and if they did, it would just be opinion (same as your valuation for Suarez is opinion). Similarly, the figures mentioned in most of the transfer threads ("we should buy X for 50mil and Y for 25mil") are not representative of reality.
