I want him to be confident, so I'm happy that he is. What is also reassuring is that he's put a lot on the board to support him. If they do pull the sort of things that we all suspect, at least this manager is likely to call them on it. In terms of how he speaks to the press or the players, for all I care he can dance around the touchline in a dress and freestyle rap his press conferences, if he can get the players playing well on the pitch and bring the kind of success that a club of this size craves then he's the right man for the job.
Seems to me he is just getting in his excuses early - i.e. you didn't give me the tools and that is why we are where we are in the league. Just a different way of putting it. I also think he comes across as a smarmy, arrogant f*****. My expectations are therefore already pretty low. Every time he opens his mouth and spouts some more over-the-top macho nonsense I think I will probably lose even more respect for the club I love for putting him in charge.
