Are we sure we dont just like him because of the accent ? However, I also liked what I saw on that vid (thanks for putting it on there Wiz) There is an infectious enthusiasm about the man, along with an air of not taking any sh_t. But I dont want to date him, just want him to win football matches, and Steve, do it with a bit of style if you can, because we City lads are a proud lot and need to be able to hold up our heads. You will be judged on your results, even if you do look a little like Gary Glitter Come on, come on, come on, come on come on, come on come on I SAY......etc
Must confess redprintt that he did look a little uncomfortable during the interview so what are your real thoughts on the guy?
He has always come across as someone who is both passionate and sincere about his work. I wish him all the luck in the world at the Gate and I am actually more positive about this appointment than I was over SOD, who I never took to. I would still question the length of the contract he's signed as 3.5 years in football is a lifetime given the current merry go round, unless there are performance based or early termination clauses which I really doubt knowing our board.
Like others, SC wasn't on my short list, but he's saying all the right things (thanks for the video links BTW) and seems to be passionate about doing well. The proof of course will be on the pitch, in the results we get, the style of play he adopts and in the short term, getting us to safety in L1. Without a ball kicked in anger yet, I'm warming to having SC as our manager, and I really hope he proves to be a far better and successful appointment than most of us had thought he'd be. I also hope he can stir up the dressing room and get far more out of the overpaid & under-achieving squad than SOD could. Onwards and upwards. Fingers crossed.
