What a ****ing beast! Loved him coming short letting giacc and Borini move ahead of him, he doesn't just come short make his pass then slip back into position, he stays short make himself available for the pass whilst leaving our other forwards in attacking positions. Brings players into the game much better than fletch has so far this season and now he has his goal, Borini lively too, we've got competition and options up front. <cool>

After tonight's performance,it's onwards and upwards! The lads put in one hell of a performance, and deserved something from the game.At least we know we have a team of fighters.

I love the way the team works around him. Our MoM for me like.

I've given him a lot of bad press so far this season and fair play to him, he shut me right up with that performance last night. Absolutely outstanding and literally battered Terry & Cahill, they won't put in many more harder shift this season. Well, not until the next time we play them anyway.

He is great for bringing other players into the action, much better than Fletcher at that side of the game but I still dont see why Fletcher and Altidore cant play together when playing the teams around us.

I never realised how optimistic you mackems are.

You have 8 points, out of 14 games. That's about 0.57 points per game. If you carry on like this you'll end the season on about 25 points.

We won't carry on like this though and if you'd paid any attention to us since Poyet took over, you would realise this. Our form has improved massively and it's only a matter of time before we string a few results together and climb out of the bottom 3. There's not many teams who will put 3 past Chelsea this season.

Anyone who had our run of home fixtures would be struggling, after Saturday we've the likes of Norwich West Ham Palace Stoke Cardiff Swansea Villa West Brom all still to play at home, all winable

Spot on mate, we'll be fine no worries. there too many teams worse than us who have yet to play some dodgy games, we've played all ours, well, most of them.

How is Borini looking for you lot? Have noticed he's started a couple of games now, but haven't really kept an eye on his performances.

Altidore had his best game by a mile for us last night, and if he keeps that level of performance up we will fast become a fans favourite..

Our 8 points are bounus points mate. Away points and home games where we were not expected to win. We've had one bread and butter game against Fulham. Go and look at our home games till the very end of the season, then look at our rivals run in and you'll see why we're not panicking. We're very good at home.

Because our new philosophy demands a 5 man midfield fella. Especially in it's early stages.

Fully agree mate although i would argue that we are fast becoming very good home and away, the improvement is astonishing mate. I've never, not even under Peter Reid, see us knock the ball about like we did last night and the confidence levels have shot up as well. If we can maintain that level of performance then we shouldn't fear anyone and the points will surely start to come.

As you rightly said Bri, we have some very winnable games coming up, hopefully starting this weekend.

Defo, I've dreamt for years of us adopting this sort of philosophy. Keeping the ball and your cool at the same time. We're doing it fella, it's not pretty but plenty on time to polish and evolve. Two Transfer windows for Gus, provided he get's his players should see us looking much tidier.

    Against the Mags FANTASTIC!

Seems like he works his socks off regardless of opposition and also likes a shot

Good player but think he'd struggle to make it into Liverpool's team atm, possibly the bench

There were times last night when we had the ball and just knocked it about as though we were (dare I say) Barcelona and Chelsea had to work their socks off to get it back. With the addition of a bit more quality in the middle of the park I think we can really push on. We're not a million miles away right now mate, we played a team worth hundreds of millions and gave them a very good run for their money and only the shear brilliance of one man and a mistake by one of ours cost us that game.
