    NUFC Linked To Moscow Winger Forced To Train With Kids

    The latest name added to the Newcastle January transfer targets list is Moscow based winger Aiden McGeady.

    The ex-Celtic winger has been transfer listed by coach Valery Karpin and forced to train with the Spartak Moscow youth team.

    27 year old McGeady is out of contract at the end of the season and Newcastle are one of the clubs said to be interested after the winger publicly said he wanted to move to the Premier League.

    Coach Karpin;

    “McGeady has been removed from practice session because he didn’t comply with the instructions of the head coach during matches and in practice.”

    One of Spartak Moscow’s assistant coaches, Boris Pozdnyakov, gave us more of an insight into exactly why the winger has been sidelined;

    “McGeady has repeatedly said he wants to continue his career in England and the head coach could not tolerate that, so took strict measure – I think he was totally correct.”

    In 72 league appearances for the Russian club, McGeady has score 11 goals since his move just over three years ago.

    No thank you.
    As a squad player though, he would offer more than Obertan.

    I would take him. I think we will look to get rid of people like Obertan, Marveux and Jonas in the next 2 windows and if we can get him on the cheap wouldn't be a bad option as backup but would rather see us go for young English players, Zaha, Redmond, Ince etc
