Leeds Utd v Wigan Athletic

Welcome to an exciting slice of a Morning match thread

Bet you can't wait.....

As you know Dexter has been sent back to the City ground for treatment following an injury during training last Thursday, and word has it that McDermott may play himself. <yikes>

Personally, I don't believe it, I reckon Smith will Partner McCormack up front.

Sod it, here's my squad

---------------Kenny--------------

Pelts------Lees-----Pearce-----Warnock

Byram-----Austin-----Tonge-----Mowatt

------McCormack-----Smith-----

Thoughts?

Yes, I would drop Murphy, no I'm not bitter, just don't think he is good enough....

Other then the above, I may play Diouff instead of Tonge just behind the front two, giving Rudy a little more freedom.

What kind of crowd should we expect tonight?

Are the prices going to be slashed?

Redders could be lined up to take the vacent Barnsley job!!!

Thoughts? Should we do everything we can to keep him?

Morning all. Won't look good for Diouf if he doesn't get to play some sort of part tonight. If varney starts, I give up. As for Murphy Elland, I'm slightly worried. You don't rate him as good enough, Hunt is hopeless and smith is at best ok. Doesn't say a lot for McD summer signings. He better do a better job with the January cash.
Has to be a bumper crowd surely after gfh gave away 12500 free tickets to season ticket holders. That's all very fine of course, but if the team are not playing, as like Saturday, even free tickets unlikely to attract Luke warm supporters. Hopeful of a one nil win and were back in top six.anyone notice how perilously close to the bottom three our Wally friends now are. Surely staring into the abyss

Morning Eire, yep, Wall are dooomed....

Murphy may be one for the future but Tonge a safer option, better passer, less mistakes

Beter be a crowd of over 30,000 then...

Why is everyone calling for a change to 442. We are doing well with the 532 so I wouldn't change.

Personally I would plau the same team except bring Byram back for Peltier and Warnock back for Pugh. Play Smith instead of Varney.

Anyone else a little worried about McCormack and Lees availability. Apparently both are struggling with injuries and both are positions that we really can't afford injuries in at the moment.

Morning all ... changes I would look at is anyone for Varney, and Byram at RWB to add some energy ... not sure Hunt is useless, he clearly joined not 100% fit and his injury is still hampering him, good thing is that if he's ready come into the squad end of January we have a fresh player to help us push on, not ready to write him off just yet ... think we have the chance to wallop Wigan tonight, we can do a Brum on them if the lads are on it ... Redders to Barnsley doesn't look quite right for me, he has a very stable job at Leeds, is enjoying being First Team Coach as well as the responsibility of running one of the most productive Academies going, Barnsley will be short term before he's sacked and then what? MOT!!

Morning all,

Murphy was one of our better players against Blackburn, he and Zaliukas were two of our better performers.

Start with same team but with Byram in for Peltier and Smith in for Varney.

Crowd expected to be in excess of 30,000

Afternoon all. I'd also go for 352 with Byram as RWB and probably Warnock at LWB given Pugh's glaring error on Saturday. Is it worth starting with Brown instead of Mowatt? We're expected towin, but Wigan might not be a cakewalk. So better to have a bit more steel in the midfield for the first half.

I have a meeting at ER this afternoon.
Will see BMcD unless Elland has given him a job swap with Ross should I offer my opinion on Varney?
If I see Haigh I will Give my opinion on LUST and how he should ignore them and find a better way to engage with the majority of the fan base.

Meeting about nothing important and nothing to do with football.
I have no cash so not investing.
If anything interesting happens I will update you.
Bet you can't wait!

Glass half full day, so I think we will be in 6th place tonight after the win and Derby get beat by a rejuvinated Boro. So well done to the lads after improving over the weekends woeful performance. Was great to see Ross make the team and his 2nd goal in the 2nd half was fooking brilliant and must be on for goal of the season <ok>

Murphy still has lots of improving to do, was much better against Blackburn and I don't see the point of swapping him out for someone like Tonge who isn't going to do much more. Assuming Blackstock is the only player missing I'd just swap Byram and Warnock in at wing back and switch Smith in for Varney.

Very happy to see the club doing as much as they can to bring in a big crowd, as 3 points would be huge, putting us back into 6th with another home game coming up.

Sounds like Brian is going to go with Smith: “In the second half we went too long. Matt Smith came on but we didn’t mix it up enough. Matt’s got more in the locker than that – he can hold the ball up and bring people into play – and we’ll certainly look at that for tonight.”
