In his first season at stud Frankel covered 133 mares to Northern Hemisphere time. At the current time it is believed that 126 of these mares remain in foal. Any questions/comments?
Sequence was one of the foals the Queen got from the Aga Khan. I thought they were to be kept by the Royal Stud but maybe that's not the case. A call to Joe Grimwade may tell us(?). She was second in the Galtres. No Northern Dancer in her pedigree at all and one line of Never Bend. With Frankel's pedigree (no Never Bend) it will be interesting whether that is the match to look for or whether breeders will go for further inbreeding to Northern Dancer: of which there will obviously be a great deal judging from the list.
I did notice that re SEQUENCE. sometimes the reason for "owner not given" is simply that the mare had not been registered as a broodmare in this country in time for the publication to go to print. Quite a few of the other mares in a similar position are actually known US owned mares.
No degree in rocket science needed to figure why Frankel’s first book is comprised of the crème de la crème of mares. In a couple of years time there could be quite a few colts and fillies coming to the racecourse that I will be looking for not solely because Frankel is their dad but because their mothers were racecourse favourites. It would be amazing if we could see Midday’s half-brother/-sister racing against their nephew/niece.
The Goffs sale is taking place this week, so I'll post the results for the mares in foal to Frankel as they come in. I think the mares sell towards the back end of the week.
Chocolicious, a South African G1 winner, sells in foal for €400,000. She is not listed above as she sells with a Southern Hemisphere covering, covered on 10 September.
Kirinda Laurelei Dorcas Lane Were all vendor buybacks yesterday, meaning their sellers were not happy with the price achieved so did not let them go.
I'll be interested in following the progress of: 29) DISCREET BRIEF (IRE) – Airlie Stud – G3 winner, dam of G2 winner, G1 placed STEELER Anyone know what happened to Steeler? Was looking forward to seeing him as a 3 year old...
An update to add that the first foal is on the ground, a bay colt out of CHRYSANTHEMUM arrived at Coolmore Stud on Saturday night.

I wonder if there is room in the "to win on racecourse debut" to invest at 5/2 then lay it off on the day? Surely Frankel hype will see it go off at odds on? Could be a bit of easy money..
