Just noticed that Sunderland away for tomorrow in the league is sold out. Allocation was 3000. Maintains that we have sold out every game home and away so far this season. Given this is midweek and we're playing them again 2 weeks later away in the cup, this is a superb effort. One of the best away supports in England.

Meanwhile Spurs can't sell out their 2300 allocation for Sunderland away which is the late Saturday kick off!

Spurs only took half their alloction for an August match at Old trafford last season, and their excuse was that it was on a Bank Holiday weekend. They failed to fill their end for the 4th play play-off at the Etihad too

I've been a Blue since 1959, and used to have no greater pleasure than following them away , in England and Europe! My life now has changed as a result of baby-sitting duties (which I share with the Mrs}, for my daughter and son in laws children. I always get to the Satuday home games , but cant do midweek or Sundays anymore! Sunderland is one of the few locations I've never been to. So thank the Lord for TV. Lets hope for good game and I'll share a beer with you from my lounge! <ok>

This is the very reason why good honest footballing clubs like Sunderland appreciate Chelsea because their fans realise that despite recent success, we are very much like they them and keep a realistic grip of our capabilities. So like Blue here's too you and your season.<cheers>

I went last season and had a good little trip... You'll have the joy of seeing us twice in 2 weeks! Would have done the cup away game had I been back in time but will just have to wait.. Hope we win though... Nothing too personal... But so we can get one over Poyet

Nice one. Went up to the milk cup semi in the 80s when dale jasper gave away two pens on one of his only games for chelsea. The poor lad simply could not cope with the noisiest atmos I have ever been to.

We took about 8k up there but loads were locked out. Will never forget the noise you guys made.

Never really understood threads like this and why fans feel pride for supporting a club that has other fans (who they've never met) who turn up to a lot of games.

I couldn't give a stuff if 3000 Arsenal fans who I don't know turn up to an away game miles up north. Why would that make me 'proud'? I'll support my team whatever. I don't need a load of randoms to turn up to a game to make me feel proud.

Because certain arseholes feel the need to generalise and say our fan base is plastic, this proves otherwise.

You lads always bring a good sized and vocal squad up to our place, and there's been some top banter over last few years, including a few of us obliterating a few of you at pool ;)

I have no reason to doubt the same again tonight and from the last 2 years you guys know your welcome in bars all over the city.

Just let us win though, thanks.

Biggest load of bollocks i've read. I did all but 3 aways last season so yeah... met a hell of a lot of decent people who do the away games. It makes me proud that we have a loyal fanbase who follows the team wherever they go... And that loads of my mates are currently making the journey is even better

Along with about 1500 other people, I may be doing what is known up here as the Boxing Day Dip,which basically entails swimming in the North Sea at Seaburn in Sunderland on Boxing Day morning..It's all for a good cause, but it does nothing for the size of the crown jewels!!!
