4-0 is a bit steep but a pundit would be stupid to predict a result for city they have to play the percentages and go for arsenal or they would get most things wrong and lose their job.
Well I don't expect us to get anything, it is more the wording of the article. It is so negative and very biased...for obvious reasons.
I did post that without reading the article first having read it it does come across very disrespectful and clearly bias, but nothing better than proving people wrong I'm hoping we can park the bus and get a 0-0.
Merton's a pundit because he lost what money he'd received from playing football and isn't up to the job of coach or manager. He gets panic attacks even reading anything not Londoncentric.
He sums up the worst of all pundits. I recall our first game ever in the Prem at home to Fulham and he was asked pre-match by Jeff Stelling to name a Hull City player other than Dean Windass and he admitted he couldnt. People seem to think this kind of incompetence, and that shown by ther 'loveable Cammy', is amusing but I think it's pathetic. All he has to do is watch some football outside the usual big-clubs and he cant even be bothered to do that. It's not funny, it's incompetent. Stewart Robson is by far the best pundit out there and it's a crying shame he isnt used more.
Paul Merson has been singing our praises for most of this season and is generally quite decent. And I cannot imagine why any pundit would predict anything other than an Arsenal win tomorrow. But yes, he does use the word easy a bit too much there.
As I say I am not disagreeing with his his prediction of a home win but the manner of it is very disrespectful, especially after such a great performance against Liverpool.
Well let's hope that Arsenal believe it is going to be easy, they might get a wake up call as did Liverpool. Realistically we will be lucky to get anything out of it but we have a history of doing well there. Be good to get one over Wenger, and it's to be hoped Brucie wears waterproofs when going down the tunnel!

I don't see how you can compare this Arsenal team to the Liverpool we faced at the weekend. Just because we won against the Scousers doesn't mean we won't be turned over by Arsenal. Liverpool are nowhere near as good as them.
If you read my posts Golaccio you will see that I am not comparing Arsenal to Liverpool, I am highlighting how good our performance was against a decent team. I am fully aware Liverpool are not the sane class as Arsenal. I expect us to lose, but find the wording he uses very biased and dismissive.
Merson's a knob, plain and simple. Judging by what he's written he has totally forgotten that the main axis of our team is made up by two players that played for Arsenal's north London rivals, and I feel that Thudd & Livermore will have a major say in the result on Wednesday. Easy, easy & easy? Put his words on the dressing room door Brucie, we've done it before at The Emirates and I wouldn't be totally shocked to see us do it again. 4-0? Not a chance!
I'm sure he predicted Liverpool to win 3-0. Subjectively, top of the league are playing one of the out of form teams in the league. We were second bottom of the form table before Liverpool! He can't really say anything else.
I remember Merson being very complimentary of us the first time he watched us in the premier league Especially of Ian Ashbee.
He normally is, but we are playing the top 2 teams at the time. You'd be stupid to bet against them really.
Paul Merton is a comedian. I thought you might have made a mistake here, but now realize that you were making a very subtle point. As a pundit, Paul Merson is a fine comedian.
