Our Number One Priority this season - Forget about promotion or the playoffs - is now to avoid this! please log in to view this image Other teams are picking up the odd point here and there. EVERY side below us either won or drew last night. We are now level on points and goal difference with Accrington [who are they?] Stanley FFS. We are only five points above the trap door. Coming up, we have Hartlepool away - they've won 5 of their last 6 home games. Wycombe at home - they were holding us to a draw in the abandoned game, which was during our GOOD run. Newport at home - They hammered us in the Paint Pot and have lost only 3 of 10 away league games. Bristol Rovers away - A 6-pointer - and they do well in them, having won at home to York and Northampton and drawn with Bury. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERY-ONE Then it's away to Dag & Red on Boxing Day - they've only lost once at home The year ends at home to Northampton with another nervy 6-pointer. Lose that and we could be on course for a Bubble fixture with Eastleigh next season! Is any-one else feeling as depressed as this at the moment?
My goal has alway been just to finish mid-table. Priority for me has always been just to get from one end of the season to the other and finish above the Relegation zone. People looking for the play-offs or even the League Title always came across to me as too ambitious and expecting far too much in our first season under the Trust during the period where we have to rebuild from the dramatic collapse of the last few years.
What they both said With the addition that this league seems to require consistency.......and thankfully no one yet has really hit consistency .......look at Fleetwood! Hopefully the board will take their time over the appointment of a new No1 and then we can see some better results, lets not forget, some of those squaddies are only on contracts until Jan, you cant help but think Catlin had one eye on GW's performance and would not give contracts until the season end......just in case GW was sacked and the new No1 wanted new blood!
I know that you have concerns about your form at the present and I don't know how things will end up this season, but; Isn't it great that you are only worrying about the football?
Your priority should be to still exist as a club at the end of the season. Bankruptcy is bigger enemy for you than relegation.
