There are people wanting to post, but can't be arsed because of crud like your reply disrupting threads. That's not my opinion, that's what the users of the board have said in a number of threads. You are a minority. I can't help thinking that some of those lurking are bound to have something more interesting to bring to the board than you. A fair percentage of your posts are feeble challenges, mindless dross and whinges like these.

 

Sure you do, but as I've supported HCFAC since 1955 and trawled the streets of St Ann's Well Road in the mid '60's before it was redeveloped don't button hole me.

You know something DMD, contrary to what you might think I don't dislike you. I find a lot of your posts witty and generally you do a good job on here, but I can't understand why you can't just leave threads alone like the other mods do and tidy up the board by merging similar ones. You need to follow Ricardo's example.

Ricardo is the only one that does a decent job of modding.

PLT is some spotty faced kid somewhere who doesn't know his arse from his elbow and Dutch Mountain Dog is only on here because he's bored with the inbred CI and is now abusing his mod powers here to assist his buddy EGD Wright in turning this board into CI mark 2.

Have a look at this thread, and consider its how the original would have gone. Where's the free speech? You just want your opinion drowning over everyone else, yet don't seem to actually comment on the issues as much as the admin. Had you and the others not jumped in, the other thread could have been neatly merged as you seem to claim you want.

 

Clearly you have since you've been there.

 

If I didn't tidy them, Ricardo would do it later, but he wouldn't be able to merge as many as they'd be messed up by then. Because of the way the system works, if a thread's gone on too long, merging them is pointless as it would mess up two threads.

The easiest way is if people had a bit of self control and didn't jump all over threads they reckon they don't like. That leaves us with the choices of, deleting the ****e, merging it and spoiling several discussions, or doing as I've done here, lifting the dross out to one thread so the original can run and the others can have their alternate discussion.

That's not my opinion, that's what many on this board has requested. We'll never please everyone, and some posters will whine whatever option is chosen, but the board runs for the majority, not a noisy minority.

How is making one reply to a post "Drowning Out"? All of the garbage on this thread, now, is because you abused your "powers" and deleted posts.

The post is now back because people confronted you about deleting them. Stop lying.

 

Have you tried posting an opinion on anything other than the set up of the board? You may not have noticed, but other than generating tedious threads like this, you haven't achieved anything. Perhaps you should try a new tack, or a new board, but whinging about mods editing threads they don't like on a thread set up by the mods must make even you reconsider their position.

As I've explained several times, I was going to merge the thread, which is what you reckon you want. The reason I didn't is that I got sidetracked when doing it by you and others.

So basically, had YOU not posted YOUR ****, and then carried on whining without listening, this thread wouldn't exist and the other one would be merged. None have been deleted.

There's no abuse of power, just because it highlights the value of your post. The board runs for the many, not the noisy you.

Show some self control, and well all be less bored. If I could be arsed, I'd look to see how many of your almost 6,00 posts were constructive debate, and how many were tedious bleats like these.

I'm the eternal optimist, I think if I take the time to answer and explain in as many different ways as I can, the penny will drop at some point...won't it?
