We've not discussed the potential availability of Demba for a bit.
What are your views and have they changed during the course of this season?
I'd still take him back in a heartbeat and if it meant saying a fond farewell to Papisse, then so be it.
I expect Mourinho to spend big in January... then the summer so I'd like us to be front of the queue if/when he becomes available.

Still have him but not likely as 29 next May. Loan maybe? Still a class act and him through the middle now would stupendous.

I'd take him back in a heartbeat. I think signing him (be it on loan or outright) would give us a boost for the second half of the season much like Cisse arriving did 2 years ago!

Would easily have him back, but I strongly believe he would not agree to come back here – not in a million years.

I got the sense he was dead keen to get away when he did, regardless of the team that came calling. I also believe he'll be happy enough picking up big wages on the Chelsea bench...

I think there are many issues. He left to play regular European football. CL if possible. He is a footballing nomad so surely he'd end up at a Turkish or Russian side? Wages, again makes Russia more likely. His age, we don't sign players who are 28 coming up 29.

news has come out that chelsea have spent more than any club in payments to agents this summer.... wouldnt be surprised if Ba's people made out like bandits. They seem to have a strong influence on him being family members and all. I'd expect Mike Ashley to tell them to run along.
keep in mind hed have to take a pay cut to join us. so will not happen. id trade him for papiss any day tho.

Wouldn't really want him back as i think we should move forward as a club. The only one i wanted to see us go back for was Carroll and since that's now an impossibility (and with hindsight a blessing) i just dont see the point in stepping back to demba when we dont really play his way anymore.
Having said that if it was between him and nobody i'd promise him a lifetime supply of strawberry syrup to come back

Wouldn't take Ba back, to old now and to expensive, plus this dodgy knee people talk about but...

Carroll I would take back, the perfect foil for how we are playing at the moment and would be miles better than Shola (he is in the form of his life and I hope he continues, but will he? Plus at 30-31 he is getting on) at the job we have our out and out striker playing.

The best of Carroll is still to come, if he can steer clear of injury he has the peak of his career still years ahead of him and I think it will be a choice between him and Welbeck for the strikers role alongside Rooney for England. Maybe not this summer as he will have a lot of work to do to make up for his lost time through injury. He's a local lad who would love to play for the Black and White stripes and would put his body on the line offensively and defensively game after game. Like I say thinks its all down to him being fit and injury free but its just the air down here turning him in to a big southern fairy.

Carroll..... yeah he has played about 10 Games in a year. Seriously concerned by his injury issues, could easily be another dean Ashton.

I see Jose's finally come to his senses, albeit too late. He responded to Lukaku's comment of "it wouldn't be a bad idea to stay at Everton if they got CL football" with "sure, they can have him....for £30m."

Ba will leave as he's just not right for Chelsea, could never understand why they went for him when they had Lukaku on the books. I do wonder - does there come a point when really good players - not the best, as such, but the really good ones - simply all start turning their nose up at the likes of Chelsea and City? It's not just that you warm a bench, it's what that does for your self-belief. Rodwell's all but disappeared off the face of the earth, yet if a Stoke or Cardiff came asking for him, he'd still be "valued" at around £15m and would he be prepared to "step down"? I just read some article about a top-grade Nigerian International who's on the books at Chelsea; how many players are they buying without anyone even knowing?

This is why I made reference to him needing to be injury free, I wouldn't go and buy him in January but if he can get a year-18 months injury free I think he would be worth a punt for £10 mil.

Understand your point though could be another one like Ashton, Woodgate, Ledley King the list goes on. Bet you could make a half decent England squad with players who's injuries have killed off their careers before they began.

Would love Demba back!!! One of my favourite forwards of all time, scored some cracking goals, consistently. Raised Papiss' game as well, even if the two of them squabbling over one birth eventually caused a bust-up.
