Fulham's new manager has just said that his team need new players in the January transfer-window,following - on from a similar comment from Crystal Palace's new manager. To me,this gives me more confidence that SAFC will escape relegation this season...we have the players in place now to do the job, unlike these clubs who don't!On top of this, with the respective managers admitting that their teams are not good enough will hardly boost confidence in their current players. We will survive without the need for new players!
we would survive with the current crop, watch out premiership, ellis is steering his ship with gus on course
Id like us to bring in a quality young centre half and maybe a first choice proper left back. If Ki gets recalled then we might need a replacement in there. Fulham problem is that they have too many luxury players like Taraabt, Ruiz and Berbatov. Palace simply don't have the quality. we have a good blend of grafters and talent.
We absolutely desperately need a goal scorer if we are to stay up. Fletcher is our only currently recognized striker and he isn't firing at all just now. Borini, Altidore, Ji or Wickham are NOT the answer either so new blood required. Like the new young British centre half bit as Brown and JOS won't continue next season IMO. I think this us Browns swan song season to keep us up.
I agree with the OP that we might just have enough in the squad already. Ellis took action early and swiftly, whereas some clubs are just hitting their crisis now and some still have theirs to come. As much as anything we just need a bit of luck. We ain't had any yet and if you watched hulls spawny goals yesterday (meyler excepted) you have to think that sooner or later we'll get our share. fingers crossed.
