Okay, we know this is going to be a long season and 17th will be our main target. So, who is in there with us fighting for their lives? I have whittled them down to 3 distinct groups. Definitely; Absolutely; Probably.

Palace are definitely for sure. I cant see them escaping.

Fulham, Cardiff, Norwich & Stoke are absolutely down there with us as well

West Ham, Villa & Hull are also probably still amongst the down and outs, as I've seen 2 of them live and they are **** and my W Ham mate thinks under ALardArse they are ****ed too.

Just as with last season and tbh the 3 or 4 seasons prior, there will be 8 or 9 teams in it right to the bitter end as all of them are capable of being beaten or winning games on a given day but not capable of stringing results together. None of them are going to run away with 5 or 6 wins off the belt and all will be winning and losing games regularly, thus allowing others around them to gain and lose positions. We are one of those clubs as well and we will be doing the same all season.

I have noticed that one or two have said Hulls win today takes them out of it but that's not the case at all. We beat Man City but didn't kick on and there have been games like WH beating Spurs etc but they cant kick on either.

The key to this is of course the games between each other and we have a great chance (as do the rest tbh) to save our season yet. Its by no means over on one weekends results and that includes games where we win too like City.

I have the utmost confidence that Poyet will get us playing better football and far more organised from here to May and in doing so will also add 2 or 3 key players in January as well. We are already a better side and with a points return of 39% under Gus, we have a gathering momentum to build. With 75 points to play for (assuming for arguments sake we continue at that rate) we will be around the 37 point mark in the round up.

I think we will actually get better and I do think a points tally of around 42 to 44 is our target. I think that will be enough as Fulham may struggle with a new manager has very little experience at all of being a manager let alone one at the highest level and will take time to get to know his players etc. Cardiff, Stoke and Norwich are as poor as we have been and despite today's result, so are Hull. W Ham have money and may improve in January and so may Villa too.

I'm still extremely confident about our chances although the next 14 games up to the end of February are crucial. Key home games against Norwich, Villa, Stoke, Hull and away games against W Ham, Cardiff and Fulham will go a long way to deciding our fate.

Bring on the Chelsea and Spurs this week and any points are a bonus here.

What odds would you get on us being out of the bottom 3 by Dec 31st?

Worth a punt or is Dec 31st too early?

Live and Die by the sword. I'm sticking with Palace, Stoke and Hull for the drop.

We could easily be out of it much earlier, or still well be still well in it by February mate. That's the kind of season its going to be with us out and in like the hokey cokey for several months. Nothing would surprise me less after our poor season so far, than to be out of it by 7.20pm on Saturday night!!!!!

Its one of those seasons for sure.

Gotta be confident so im saying

    Cardiff
    Fulham
    Palace

to go down after we go on a MonEsque run of results to drag us up the table. Its all fine margins and there are alot of poor sides and alot of teams with worse squads than ours.
