I think this will be 1-1. Which for me is a decent result as Laudrup has assembled a decent squad.

Hard to make changes when you've won 4 in a row, same team again for me. Think we will win 2-1.

All this "don't make changes to a winning team" is a small club mentality for me. If the next game was Saturday then fair enough, but it's not, it's on Wednesday.

Ferguson, Mourinho, Wenger etc etc would NEVER play the same eleven twice in the space of four days. We have good options that haven't played for a few weeks and are fresh, they need to be used.

Look at Man Utd today, Giggs was immense mid week and he's not in the team today. I know he's 40 but there are plenty more examples. Arsenal won in mid week and made three changes yesterday. Pardew must follow their lead.

Anita & Ben Arfa are very good players. They don't weaken us and will be fresh. It's a no brainer to introduce them back in to the team.

I'll be amazed if you don't thump us. We've lost Bony and Michu to injury so it's difficult to see where the goals are going to come from. We don't normally park the bus though, but I fear you'll be playing us at the right time from your point of view - we'll also be in all likelihood getting a mauling at the Etihad today.

Changes for me. Minor, but just a few. We have Man U Saturday at 12noon. I'd give Cabaye a rest for Anita. I'd rest Colo for MYM. I'd rest Sissoko for HBA. And Shola for Cisse. We have a squad and are about to hit a heavy run of games.

I don't really mind which way we do it, we either change Wednesday or change Saturday. I prefer Wednesday. We have to learn from last year where we had Man U and Arsenal on the back of murderous runs and we completely gassed out 2nd half, got raggy as ****.

I can see the argument for staying the same but its a long old season. Whilst I couldn't call it a "no brainer" like Carr's binoculars, I think it is proactive.

We don't thump anybody. Not sure Pardew knows how to. Off the top of my head I can't remember the last team we beat by a 3 goal margin

According to NUFC.com cabaye and sissoko are both 1 yellow away from an automatic 1 match ban. so it would make sense to rest them mid-week so they are available for the trip to old trafford at the weekend.

Well that serves as a very solid reason for those two changes.

Definitely need to change this one, I reckon. MYM in for Colo (at his age, he cannot be playing three times in a week, not with such a huge match on Saturday). Iron Mike stays, it may even be prudent to give Santon a rest and bring in one of our other LB's, no issue with Dummett in as well. I'd also consider popping Cabs down for the night and sticking Anita in, but who for Sissoko? Obertan?!

Hmmm.... nice to see a Cardiff fan (Swamp) is so obssessed with the Swans he's taken the trouble to post on the Toon forum. <doh>

I may have to revise the predicted thumping of us. We played extremely well yesterday, particularly first half, had a disallowed pen and missed a one on one. Man City's keeper made two superb saves from Shelvey as well. They went up a gear and blitzed us second half as they always do but we may actually do OK on Wednesday.

Yup, I fcking hate Obertan, cannot work out how or why he's on the bench. Be great to see Benny start, plus it wouldn't be a huge surprise as Pardew spend the back end of last week praising the work ethic he's shown. However, showing we're a bit light when we need options. For this match it would have been great to bring in Jonas.

I don't think he'll rest both - besides which, we can't have both not playing til January. Maybe he'll just keep them both in, arguing that a trip to OT is about the third most difficult fixture in the League, therefore a kind of collateral damage.

To be fair we'll lose against Man Utd regardless of whether they play there or not. Could make the difference at Swansea.

If it wasn't for this, I'd keep the same team - realistically we've a better chance of getting something from Swansea away than at Old Trafford (sorry Swans fans).

On this basis, we're probably better going for the stronger team in this one and trying to ensure three points than going hell for leather against Man Utd and potentially losing anyway - bit percentage football, but better to get 3 points from one win over the two games than, say, 2 points from 2 draws.
