Here's the link Cheshire Ben has for some reason PM'd to me rather than just put on this thread.
    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/141512-Barmby-suspended/page2

It was from when Barmby was sacked and my comment was in response to OLM saying the Allams were putting the club up for sale.
Like everyone else at the time I was gutted to see Barmby sacked and my feelings about the Allams were even more bitter when told they were putting the club up to be sold.

That was the context of the comment. Ben understood it was, but he still tried to use it against my current views of the Allams based on their full time at the club and not just one incident.

All I can say is that's pretty sad Ben and you need to get a life.

I must be a bit thick tonight but still not sure what you mean. The council have offered him freehold and he says no thanks. Are you saying he deserves credit for not taking them up on the offer. If so do you actually know something the rest of us don't as to why this should be a good thing?

Yes, him turning down the council offer is something he deserves credit for at this stage in our history. No I don't know anything you don't, but instinct tells me I'm right. Sorry to be vague but I don't think my reasoning should be on a message board.

That's bollocks, it's in it's full context & I didn't describe it any other way.

It was from when NB was suspended & it was your repeated view. It's changed now & as I said I'm curious as to why they've changed. Especially now that your view on them has changed for the better & as you describe based on their full tenure.

As in, they saved the club - they're great. They don't finance NB - Not so good. They suspend NB - It's getting worse & I'm bitter. Rumour about club going up for sale - They're showing their true colours. Get promoted - They're great. Rumours he wants to change the club's name - It doesn't matter we got promoted. He denies we're changing the club's name -It doesn't matter we got promoted. We're definitely changing the club's name - It doesn't matter we got promoted. They suggest supporters singing City till I die can die when they want - It doesn't matter we got promoted. He's putting the club up for sale - It doesn't matter we got promoted.

Is there another reason or is it the PL trumps all?

You've posted the link, not me.

    I never said I didn't. I said I doubted I had.
Strangely enough I don't memorise every comment I ever made on here going back for years (I don't need to anyway when there's posters like Ben around.)

So anyway do you admit that Mr Allam saved this club and is the individual most responsible for our current success?

    from your sig...

On the 15th October 1904 Leeds City played their first game at Elland Road. The result was Leeds City 0 Hull City 2.
From the ‘Tigers History’ thread – Leave your Hull City stories for posterity. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php...Tigers-history

These points like for many of us are important to you, yet would you lay down & 'die' if he told you to.

It is not a paradox to understand what he has done & protest against what he intends.

The most 'important man' does not take into account the 'butterfly effect' - the variables are incalculable - theoretically we may have even got a 'better' owner & league position than now, theoretically...

First they came for the standing fans,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't 'old school'.

Then they came for the passionate fans,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't passionate...

Then they came for the teams name,
and I didn't speak out because it was 'just a name'.

    Then they sanitised my club,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

Well said, I agree with your statement. However I can't accept Hull Tigers (though I may have to) but I could accept Hull City Tigers as a compromise. Additionally I wouldn't want Mr Allam to sell the club.
In my life I have had to work with the occasional "Odd Fellow" and I suppose most of you have too and sometimes have had to accept things you didn't agree with just to get on or accept the status qo. Well here we are again.

"Sanitised?" Better ask Cillit Bang about that. <laugh>

Glad you like my signature by the way. Maybe you should post some of your memories on there.

Not sure if anybody has posted this yet (they probably have somewhere).

    @bbcburnsy
Assem Allam also said to me he's been offered the freehold of the KC stadium but he won't have anything to do with Hull City Council.#hcafc
