HR: "It was very disappointing to lose. I came in at half-time and I couldn’t see that happening."

HR: "We didn’t create many chances but came in 1-0 up and I felt in the second half we would score again and go on and win."

HR: "At half-time I felt comfortable. I couldn’t see any way we wouldn’t win. We weren’t in any trouble whatsoever."

HR: "But 1-0 is a dangerous scoreline and we didn’t defend the first goal well."

HR: "The cross fluked its way into the far corner but, to be fair, our first goal was a fluke as well."

HR: "Credit to Doncaster, they worked hard, they kept going and in the end they got a winner."

HR: "We are short of goals. We need more people to score goals, there’s no doubt about that."

HR: "I stuck two up front at 1-1 but I still didn’t feel we created enough chances for all the possession we had in the game."

HR: "It’s a very difficult situation. We need midfield players to start scoring goals, we need wingers that are going to start scoring."

HR: "At the moment, if Charlie Austin doesn’t score, we don’t score."

R’s boss demands more goals from other areas following 2-1 defeat at Doncaster …

We need midfield players to start scoring goals"
    Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp has called upon his midfielders to weigh in with their fair share of goals after seeing his QPR side suffer only their second league defeat of the campaign this afternoon.

Rangers lost 2-1 at Doncaster, having taken the lead just before the break through striker Charlie Austin.

Theo Robinson levelled early in the second half before Paul Quinn headed an 89th minute winner for the hosts.

Following the game, Redknapp told www.qpr.co.uk: “It was very disappointing to lose. I came in at half-time and I couldn’t see that happening.

“Without playing that great in the first half, we controlled the game. We didn’t create many chances but came in 1-0 up and I felt in the second half we would score again and go on and win.

“At half-time I felt comfortable. I couldn’t see any way we wouldn’t win. We weren’t in any trouble whatsoever.

“But 1-0 is a dangerous scoreline and we didn’t defend the first goal well. The cross fluked its way into the far corner but, to be fair, our first goal was a fluke as well.

“They were two poor goals – our goal and their goal.

“Suddenly, you’re sitting there at 1-1 and you’re never sure what’s going to happen. Sure enough, they get a late corner and score.

“Credit to Doncaster, they worked hard, they kept going and in the end they got a winner. That’s football.

“The mood in the dressing room right now is about as good as mine. Not good.”

Rangers have scored 19 goals in 17 Sky Bet Championship games this season, with striker Austin netting eight of them.

“We are short of goals,” Harry added. “We need more people to score goals, there’s no doubt about that. I stuck two up front at 1-1 but I still didn’t feel we created enough chances for all the possession we had in the game.

“It’s a very difficult situation. We need midfield players to start scoring goals, we need wingers that are going to start scoring goals. At the moment, if Charlie Austin doesn’t score, we don’t score.”

Rangers remain third in the table, level on points with second-placed Burnley, but Redknapp was in no mood to focus on the overall positives of a strong start to the campaign.

“Paul Dickov has done a great job, but we’ve got to come here today and win,” he said. “We were 1-0 up at half-time, and you can’t afford to throw games like this away if you want to get promoted.”

Now we can see where the complacency comes from.

I've got a novel, groundbreaking plan for the lack of goals Harry......Get some ****in strikers!. You get out of this division by scoring goals and having a 2 up top strikeforce. Ok,the midfleiders cold chip in, but playing one, often isolated, slow striker all season isnt going to work<grr>

This is just the boost we need going into the toughest month of the season, Donny were there for the taking and we fannied about like it was a training match, Harry has to take some of the responsibility for another abject performance, he picked the same side that beat Charlton and we were lucky they were totally toothless that day as the performance was equally poor...
