Mike can stick another nought on the price now if this has any legs.
Are there any of their players we would want as part of the deal?

Etihad Stadium side want St James’ Park custodian.

Man City are reportedly keeping tabs on Newcastle United keeper Tim Krul as a possible replacement for off-form custodian Joe Hart according to Sports Direct News.

The Dutch international has been in fine form, form that has helped Alan Pardew’s side pick up three wins on the trot, and is also said to be interesting Atletico Madrid and Juventus.

Etihad Stadium boss Manuel Pellegrini has opted to drop Hart in recent weeks but perhaps doesn’t see Costel Pantilimon as a long term replacement for the England man and as well as tracking Krul has also been monitoring the likes of Stoke City’s Asmir Begovic and Malaga’s Willy Caballero.

The 25 year old has been in fine form this season and may feel that the chance to join a side who are competing at Champions League level hard to turn down at this stage of his career.

Krul could feel that such a move would help him to secure a more prominent role in Louis van Gaal’s Dutch national team set-up.

"according to Sports Direct News" Today's Newcastle first XI player linked with a move away is... Krul, he plays in goal... Which "massive" mega rich club has goalkeeping issues... Create story.

Today's Newcastle first XI player linked with a move away is... Tiote, he plays in midfield... which "massive" mega rich club has midfield issues... Create Story.

    and on. and on.

Funny they don't have much "news" in the form of Newcastle readying to table £10m bid for insert superstar name here. You'd think with their insider information they would be pretty accurate. Seems Sports Directs whole advertising stance is target Newcastle fans as a whole and one select club every now and then. Not a long term business model, especially when the owner of Sports Direct seemingly misinterprets the meaning of target Newcastle fans.

Could be worse guys, instead of Krul and Tiote, it could be Shola they were all coming hunting for.

Newcastle like to do transfer deals under the radar.
The first anyone will know of it is Shola holding up a red and blue striped shirt on the pitch at the Nou Camp and we'll have some lad called Messi describing his joy at finally realising his dream of banging in a goal at the gallowgate in black and white.

Makes you wonder what players would now be keen on a move to the Etihad. Such a thing as too much money/competition? Hardly think Scott Sinclair or Jack Rodwell are begging their mates to up sticks and head to Manchester.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1867589-manchester-city-definitely-want-iker-casillas-claims-guillem-balague

Mike Ashley wants to sell Krul whilst he's hot. Let's his own media cooperation know that Manchester City have approached them, puts a third party under pressure to make a move in the winter transfer period. Dirty politics.

It'd be more original to get the Daily Telegraph to write an article that lists the top 10 things to get for Christmas and a month, 6-months and a year subscription for said newspaper are in the top 3.
